An infant does not have all of the cognitive functions of a child, nor does a child have all the emotional functions of an adult. It doesn't make them any less human. Just a human in a different stage of development.

But not the stem cell research we need, or this would not be a debate. I dont believe in cloning humans. I believe in finding cures to horrible diseases that hopefully you never have to experience with yourself.

Me, too. But I don't believe that the end justifies the means.

I'd love to cure cancer. But not if it meant harvesting the brain tissue of millions of people in nursing homes.

If the cure is worse than the disease, we have a problem.

I dont believe the cure is worse than the disease in this one. Now harvesting old people brains, well no, thats sick. But we might cure cancer, heart disease, Alzhiemers, Parkinsons and many others, some of which affects kids as well, by embyronic stem cell research.

And no one should lie, even someone with a disease, it wont help their cause. If he did lie he was wrong to do so.

People are experimenting now with embryos and theis is no evidence anything is happening. They have made break throughs with regular stem cells. Don;t beleive what they say. The debate is happening because they are trying to discredit the republican candidates. It's all political. Michael J Fox was not doing a publc service announcement add, it was a politcal add to discredit the republican candidate.

It took 20 years to get decent drugs to treat aids, we still do not have a cure for cancer after how long 40-50 years, why not keep trying.
