Why write a post about your assumptions about the different socio economic status of black people, and white people with the same income while ignoring data?

Do you really think your personal perceptions trump the known data about that subject? This information exists. You don't have to believe or disbelieve you can know.

America is largely a racially segregated nation. American government policy created high poverty, high unemployment, high crime neighborhoods. This is objective reality. So people who pretend this isn't true are wasting my time.

And residential segregation is the result of the policies of the American government. So yes the American government has to correct that problem since it created the problem.

Black Americans face systematic discrimination when looking for jobs. This is objective reality.

Black Americans face systematic discrimination in the criminal justice system.

Now government action can fix these huge problems. Because government policies created these problems. It won't be easy. Mistakes will be made but pushing forward is the only way forward.

I just wish that more people would be honest and admit that they don't want to do anything to fix these American social problems other than talk about how they believe people deserve their lot in life and can't be helped anyway, than they could discuss in their opinion what's wrong those people and how they suck and are blah, blah, blah.
My point was my.point. The original post was a response to you or residinghere that white people are always saying black people need to fix the problems in the community. My point was there is only so much a community can do collectively. The rest is up to individuals, which others have no control over. You don't agree with me about the one thing the community can do is try to stop the crime happening on the streets. That's fine. Your answer seems to be to have the gov't build projects in wealthy areas, which is never going to happen. They have already tried bussing to integrate the schools in the south, and it was a rousing sucess as far as making race relations much better there. Maybe they should do that in the north, because they seem more segregated than we are.

looks like you nailed it. Exit sign was duly located and availed of.

Who cares? How many political parties apart from Republicans call perceived sellouts "RINOs"?

We've got plenty of other words for white, Asian, or whatever, people who work against black communities. We've got a few for black people who work against black communities, too. See? Equal treatment.

Oh look, another example of hypocrisy. You see though, he is a democrat and his target was a man hated by liberals, Clarence Thomas.

This guy also said that criticism of Obama is racist.

Oh that's rich. So what have we learned recently? You can get away with gay slurs, racist comments, insane rhetoric, and lying if the following criteria are met:

1. You are a well known liberal

2. The target is not well thought upon by the Left

3. You're just a comedian, so its ok. Its "art"

4. If it helps demonize the anti-Left, say what you want and need to say

He's a congressman and as far as I am aware, he is not aiming for any other office. As such, he plays to his district and not to anyone else.

When called on it, affluent neighborhoods grudgingly accept affordable senior housing, then proceed to boast about how they're doing 'their part' to provide affordable housing.

Freaking elitists.

And projects CAN be nice places with little crime. Have only studio apartments (keeps out the next generation of gangbangers) and attract low-income college graduates. Public housing was perfectly adequate working class housing until 'welfare rights' activists got Congress in 1969 to eliminate the 'minimum income' requirements that had kept the welfare class out of public housing.

Of course, liberals and welfare rights activists will demand equal access (or more) to baby mamas with gangbangers in tow, which is why these housing projects don't work out well.

Yes it is a racist term. Who the hell are you to decide what's racist and what's not? Uncle Tom is a term to demean certain BLACK people. That alone makes it racist. It is a race based negative term.

You can defend yourself all you want, but you're no better than that team owner. You just think you are because you choose to except that that term is racist.
He already admitted that he was racist in the Jay-Z thread.

To paraphrase: It is not a big deal to wear symbols that mean that whites are inferior and have the devil in them, because that group helps brothers out.

Create a demand. People do that all the time by shopping/buying from businesses they support. Buycotts and boycotts abound over every issue you can possibly imagine. Create more of a demand for jobs for Blacks.

Shouldn't even be necessary. Buycotts/boycotts are quite effective, and would force employers who discriminate to change or lose business.
