the big picture, to me, is the quality of air and water
what's the big picture to you? money?
There is a trade off here, if you want a modern society and all the benefits it offers you have accept the fact there is going to be environmental consequences. Mitigation of those consequences is the goal through practical and sane regulations. Reducing depostion rates of mercury in the US 1% to 10% with almost no benefit is neither practical or sane.
Take the blinders off, you have to weigh the benefits against the consequences.
It's misguided. You're blinded by the word pollution and can't look at the big picture.
If you have a principled position to present, why do you feel compelled to lie about me? I am not blinded. I see the word and respond to it just like you do. There is no need for you to lie, if you truly have a principled perspective to share.

Precisely - right-wingers and liberals simply apply different weights to different considerations, right-wingers placing far more priority on money, liberals placing far more priority on lives and health.

Yet.....the liberals wants the people with a little money to be there with funds to feed cloth and give them healthcare.

You must mean liberals placing far more priority on having a feeling of self righteousness about saving the environment and right-wingers placing far more priority on the well being of the poor and middle class whose jobs and standard of living and threatened by the higher energy prices that liberal polices will necessarily lead to
you apparently refuse to acknowledge the primacy of the life and health of people you don't care about.
I do and I'm able to look at the big picture. The benefits for health and wallet far outweigh the benefits of a 1 to 10 percent reduction in mercury deposition rates resulting in the average IQ increasing 2/1000 of one point.
Yet.....the liberals wants the people with a little money to be there with funds to feed cloth and give them healthcare.
No they don't.
Wow you're making it far too easy to dismiss your petulant nonsense.

But don't expect right-wingers to actually care about people's lives and health more than money (and especially when the lives and health we're talking about improving are more so that of minorities poor people). Any moral sense of human decency is an anathema to right-wingers. And it would be even more ridiculous to try to get them to acknowledge that this is a compromise (since the standards could have been a lot more restrictive).
If you want clean air, energy will cost quite a lot. Don't blame right-wingers for trying to prevent high energy prices, I sure don't want to pay 20 cents or more a Kwh just to stay cool in summer.
