Yo ho ho. Just had to put it up. The comments are the best.

"A man has launched a court challenge for the right to marry his laptop.

Chris Sevier filed a 50-page motion to the 10th US Circuit Court of Appeal because he was denied the right to marry his MacBook "machine spouse" by Utah officials.

He argues the love he has for the "porn-filled" Apple device is no different to that shared between gay partners."

This is stupid, his computer isn't a consenting adult. When AI reaches that point, then this man might have an actual case. Until then, he can pick up a box of tissues and vasoline, and have an unofficial marriage in the privacy of his own home.

Too much information...

You do understand he is trying to make a point... ?? Stupidly, IMO.

This is, of course, precisely why the case tossed by the judge in question.

Apparently, both the petitioner in this case as well as the OP are under the impression that electronic devices have constitutional rights. In perusing the article below, I learned that the petitioner in this case was disbarred three years ago for being mentally ill. That explains his weird and incoherent 'logic'. I wonder what the OP's excuse is?

Man wants to marry his porn-filled laptop

Quote:
Sevier — who was banned from practicing law in Tennessee in 2011 due to "mental infirmity or illness" — has a history of weird lawsuits, Gawker notes. He sued Apple for selling him the computer he now wants to marry, tried to sue A&E for suspending Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson, and is currently trying to intervene in Utah's gay-marriage debate on behalf of those who "prefer sex with inanimate objects and animals."
On a side note, this case reminds me of my coworker, who thinks that allowing women to vote (95 years ago now) still might lead to a court decision allowing dogs to vote.

Do man kind a favor. Grant the marriage but require him to first get a vasectomy. Eliminate this idot from the gene pool before it's too late.
I love my Macbook. I'll never buy a windows platform again. 4 years old and it is just about as fast as it was the day I opened the box. That said LOL it ever gives me a problem it will be replaced.

Either he's a maroon or he works for Jimmy Kimmel.
"...he also attempted to claim damages from Apple for failing to add a "safe mode" to his computer, which he said led to his pornography addiction."

Nah, he doesn't need a vasectomy, he can't knock up his laptop. Though he can watch porn of knocked up women, so yeah, maybe he should get a vasectomy.

The OP's excuse? Some of you need to take a chill-pill and enjoy the silliness of life.

It's cruel to deny this man a happy marriage to the love of his life. How unfeeling and heartless of you people. Just because your love interests and attractions are different. Goes to show how far that tolerance goes, eh?

As for consenting... how hard would it be to write a few lines of code in C++ or Java to "allow" the computer to show its true feelings and give its consent? Your obdurate hearts of stone are encased deep within tombs of cold, blue ice.
