Lefties LOVE their unqualified populist candidates. They use them to pull the wool over the voters eyes and then laugh hysterically that it even worked.

One other thing to keep in mind, is just because someone comes from the entertainment world doesn't mean they wouldn't be a serious politican or qualified.

Al Fraken think is a good example of this. When he ran in 2010, many people on both sides questioned how serious he was. Now, regardless if you agree or disagree with his ideology, its pretty evident he has taken his job seriously, and works extremely hard.

Another point with the gerrymandering, this is a safe gerrymandered district. Many people who run for Congress tend to hold state office, and running for Congress is the same time they would have to run for re-election, so they would have to give up their seat in order to run. Now, will someone give up their seat in another office to run for a district that favors them or is competitive? Of course, but how many are going to give up their seat to run in a district gerrymandered the other way? Not many, which is why many who run in gerrymandered districts tend to be those who lack experience.

I still can't believe people voted for Clay Aikens. Good for us that Justin Beiber is a Canadian.
