It seems that Boko Haram is objecting to what the girls are being taught in school. Could the curriculum be looked at for issues that are especially offensive to Islam?
Probably these girls are being taught to think for themselves; that blows the simple minds of Islamists and their brothers.
it is very sad and in this case we have 200 plus young girls in the most horrific danger. I would bet a good deal have already been sold to human and sex trade. their parents must be in a world of despair I can't imagine.
Agreed but why don't fellow Africans have the balls to help out in Nigeria?
It's completely normal with any religion or other ideology that promotes polygamy.
Polygamy is all about men gaining status by buying up many wives and concubines. Women and girls are nothing more than possessions -- and they're to be kept uneducated so they can accept being sex slaves. Mohammed himself owned many wives and concubines -- his favorite was a 6 year old girl that was given as a gift.
This is correct, but we sure should be able to let barbarians know they don't mess with certain people or territory.
We have sent a wimpy message to the world and this is OUR reward. This started with US government thinking the ME wanted to be Westernized.
More of Obama's and Hillary's "Arab Spring".
One big factor in this -- the kidnapped girls are mainly Christian -- they are spoils of war for the Muslims. Mohammed was very big in kidnapping women and raping women that were wives and daughters of the men he slaughtered.
I think it's really interesting that after Ayaan Hirsi Ali was denied her honorary degree by Brandeis for speaking out against Muslims' treatment of women (honor killings, genital mutilation, etc.) that this kidnapping happened, yet I don't see any member of the media going to Brandeis to ask the loudmouths that spoke out against Ali what their opinion is on this kidnapping in Nigeria.
