IN October of 2012 we were up to $128B lost in 34 failing green companies. I'm sure it's well above 1/4 Trillion by now.
I wonder how the economy would have reacted if that 128B had been divided amongst the lowest 50% income earners (emphasis on earners as in working poor to lower middle class) That would have been about $4000 a head, and would have bought a lot of food and clothing.
Those who profit from selling oil definitely don't want solar energy.
And that's too bad because the sunshine is there, and even rich industrialists can't do anything about it. It's free, it's for everybody, and sooner or later people will wake up and start utilizing it more---probably because they won't have any other choice.

probably could have outfitted 50 million houses with solar panals or wind turbines.... that money didn't just evaporate
Koch brothers are behind legislation that would require an extra fee for those who have solar panels in order to be connected to the power grid. I thought conservatives were anti tax.
Don't Confuse Business Decision for a political decision.
The Power company for some time wish to tax the solar people because there is cost involved with the grid. Salt River Project in Phoenix had a big add campaign last year on this subject.
And we shouldn't be. However you and your ilk don't want to eliminate subsidies, you just want your cronies to get them instead.
They are not "my cronies." Clean energy benefits every living being on the planet. Big oil subsidies benefit multi-billionaires like the Koch Brothers, and them alone.
