None of them are going to stop R&D if subsidies dry up.
I wouldn't doubt that at all however those R&D funds will not be driven by government policies.

It isnt driven by it now.

If someone sees something as being profitable in the near future with proper research, then it will continue to research it.

Sure it is, the subsidies avert risk and those industries that are heavily subsidized is where the big money goes. Why take a risk when you have a sure thing?

Stop handing everyone your feigned outrage towards conservatives while ignoring liberals doing the same things.

I've invested thousands in LED lighting and solar power. What has this to do with what I posted? You're deflecting, and poorly at that.

I'm a conservation minded conservative you have no defense against. I'm the kind of conservative that short circuits your meme.

You do know that it takes oil to produce solar cells, right? BP, a company I despise, is a leader in solar energy and alternative fuels. You can't escape the fact that it takes 6X the carbon to produce an electric vehicle, right? You probably text on your iPad while believing you're going to save the world.

Hypocrite

Then you do not have a understanding of Conservatism for smaller gov and less taxes. There are many who use the name when it suits their purpose.

The Solar Industry has been protected because the idea of Green energy. For the most, they have not invested the millions to integrate into the main power grid.

All the power companies want like SRP , Salt River Project Phx AZ. is the recover the cost support system.

Conservatives only want to reduce the size of government that the do not own or control. They are fine with increased Military spending or Farm subsides but consider health care for everybody else to be a waste of money that could be theirs. This are monopolistic thieves that prevent real competition and actual markets for diluting their power.

Of course the Hunt Brothers want to tax alternate energy. They don't own the sun and hate the current and fear the potential competition. As we cannot arrest these thieves the least we should do is tax the hell out of their illegal gains.

There is nothing new here. An evil owner of a nuclear plant once devised a devious plan to block the sun's rays from hitting the earth, in order to make the innocent townspeople have to pay more for electricity.

"Since the beginning of time, man has yearned to destroy the sun. I shall do the next best thing: block it out." C.M.Burns.
