Many would say the killers of James Bulger deserve to be hung, even though they were only 10 years old when they did it ... due to the extreme brutality of the crime.

Does a civilized society ever put minors to death? Would you be opposed or in favor of this in extreme cases?

i would differentiate a 'child' of 10 from a minor of 17. it would be tough to make a case for putting a 10 year old to death no matter how heinous the crime..
life in prison? maybe.

Totally agree, I am reminded of a minor (3 months short of 18 years) brutally attacking, gang raping and eventually killing a woman. He was given 3 years (max term) in a reform facility. he should be hanged with the rest of the people involved in gang-rape.

I voted yes, If a child shows malice and intent for a aggrevated crime of death, this means he/she knew what they were doing. Death Penalty for Justice.

So if a child shows that he or she is intellectual enough to discuss the issues should he or she be able to vote? How about buy alcohol or drive a car?

I voted no, BUT I'd also argue that we shouldn't limit the sentences as we do for them. Death should be off the table, but we shouldn't also then say "well when you turn 21 you get to go free no matter the horrific nature of the crime"

Considering the average American commits three felonies a day that certainly should eliminate the over population problem in many cities mighty quick.

I'm going to have to agree with you. Someone that can at that early age can do something that bad will not grow up to be a useful part of society.
