Living in France seems nice but i'm sure i would be very homesick, but idk maybe not... there is a McDonalds and a Starbucks at the Louvre.
Come live in Quebec for a while. See how you like it. We don't live to work, either. We take our pleasures quite seriously. It's not all about the dollar$.
But you're right that Americans tend to overvalue work for the sake of work.
So on the off-chance that you are not as immature as you sound, and that you are sincerely interested in a life lived lower on the food chain, here are some things you can start exploring.
1) A friend of mine, a highly intelligent and well-read person, worked for years as a janitor in a state office building, never made more than about 25K a year, retired as soon as he could. He lives *very* frugally.
2) There are peace activists who put their money where their mouth is and keep their income below the level at which they'd start having to pay fed income tax. They live *very* frugally.
3) There are people who so despise the money system that they don't partake in it. They carry all they own in a backpack, don't pay rent, pick up odd jobs as they travel. They live *very* frugally.
4) There are people who live in their van or other vehicle. They live *very* frugally.
See that word frugal? It's a clue. Extreme simplicity and van living are others. If you go this route, and you don't want to be a mooch, you will have to be creative and resourceful. You will have to give up a lot of amenities that most people take for granted. You will have to find ways to contribute to other people's welfare that results in fair exchange in the absence of cash.
