These old photos are from the 2009 recession.

The first photo says "Timestamp: Friday, May 16th, 2014" but it is also in a 2010 article: Unsold Cars from Around the World!! | FunInStore.com
The second and third photos are from 2009 (Google image search)

But go to Google Maps per the article for Sheerness, UK and there they are - more cars than you'd ever think you'd see in one place. Granted that image is probably not current, but I wouldn't think 4 or 5 years old either.

What an incredible story.

Sheerness is the largest car shipping port in England. One would expect cars to be at a port that imports cars.

It is a port. Foreign cars are unloaded and parked until they are sent to dealers. I lived close to Ford plant in the 1980's and the lot was always full of new cars - new and different cars every month awaiting delivery.

Yeah that article is a prime example of how wingnut junk websites like zerohedge routinely lie to their readers. The author writes "Houston...We have a problem!...Nobody is buying brand new cars anymore! Well they are, but not on the scale they once were. Millions of brand new unsold cars are just sitting redundant on runways and car parks around the world. There, they stay, slowly deteriorating without being maintained." then shows half-decade-old photos from the height of the recession and pretends that they represent the situation TODAY.
Pretty dishonest - but not the slightest bit surprising.
