Liberals are almost funny --- they want to proclaim that Obama has created the best economy ever, solved all the problems ---- but they don't want to cut unemployment handouts, food stamps, or get people off the many other welfare handouts.

That's a really funny website, so thanks for the laughs. I especially enjoyed the stories about UFOs, the Rapture, prophesies, mind control, root canal cover-ups and how to raise your half-human and half-alien children.

This is where you get your "news"? I'm not surprised.
Yup...This coming from a guy that doesn't know what country he lives in.

Obama created these?

This all sounds like the typical slogans. Coal is not an energy source for the future. EPA regulations aren't going anywhere. Businesses will not be able to pillage our environment for profit. Perhaps you would like American cities to look like this (China)?

Obamacare is the conservative health care reform plan...

So, you are blaming him for not fixing thiings he had no control over? Please explain how NAFTA is an "Obama economic policy."

The Keystone pipeline creates an unnecessary environmental threat for a grand total of thirty-five permanent jobs !

Once again, how is the Keystone pipeline an Obama economic policy?

Fracking is a boom. Under the current administration, the U.S. is a leader in energy once again. Republicans should be congratulating Obama.. because us liberals don't think it is anything to be proud of.

1. Obama did raise taxes. Gee........... when you eliminate a tax cut, you are raising taxes.

http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/23/ob...-middle-class/

2. Obama has increased corporate taxes. Most corporations in America are "S corps" which are taxed as personal income. This was a devastating tax increase to business.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/anthonyn...-old-proposal/

3. So you have no coherent response to Obama's war on fossil fuel energy? Typical lib- currently, all alternative energies have problems and are problematic from several aspects including cost (solar/wind), pollution (solar-heavy metals/ nuclear- waste), and or environmental disruptions (hydroelectric/wind). While these problems are "ironed out", the nation should use its fossil fuel resources and slowly develop other sources. Why?

a. coal and oil produce jobs NOW
b. coal and oil production gain strategic energy independence
c. coal and oil produce exports
d. coal and oil create political power in the world
e. currently, solar is too expensive and creates heavy metal toxin problems
f. nuclear, while an excellent source, is opposed by many liberals over fears of waste
g. wind is practical only in certain areas of the country and is very expensive
h. hydroelectric is opposed by many liberals due to damming rivers.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Governm...-prices-higher

4. The keystone pipeline (like the Alaska pipeline) has been found by independent evaluation to have no feared environmental impact (see Alaska pipeline). Obama opposes the pipeline as his friend, Warren Buffet, would lose money from reduced rail revenues as a result of the pipeline and has nothing to do with "the environment". The pipeline, like the Alaska pipeline, is expected to create thousands of jobs. However, its greatest POSTIVE economic impact is the delivery of a reliable source of oil to the US.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/realspin...sands-of-jobs/

Even the feds themselves say that there would be no detrimental environmental impact from the pipeline. The only negative impact would be on Buffet's wallet.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/busine...ba3_story.html

5. Obamacare was passed by ONLY DEMOCRATS. There was not one republican/conservative vote for Obamacare. Obama owns this debacle.

6. EPA regulations have increased and are strangling business. The EPA has become a fourth, unregulated branch of government which creates law without the authorization of congress.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2706780/posts

7. Obama has failed to remedy the disadvantages of NAFTA and China trade policies. He is the POTUS- it IS his fault. Obama made changing NAFTA his CAMPAIGN PROMISE- he lied again and failed the nation.

http://economyincrisis.org/nafta

8. The reason that energy is booming is INSPITE OF OBAMA. The energy boom has occurred on private land, while Obama opposes offshore drilling and the use of federal lands for energy exploration. Energy production on federal lands has DECREASED under Obama.

http://dailycaller.com/2014/04/16/oi...l-under-obama/

Wake up- there is a reason that there are record numbers of unemployed, food stamp usage at an all time high, and record numbers of citizens living in poverty. If one loves misery for the nation, then one must love Obama, as he owns this mess due to incompetent, misguided policy.

When you defend failed economic policies and higher net poverty for the US, it makes you look absurd and unable to process data which tarnishes the record of an incompetent, failed president. You do not care about the prosperity of the nation, only defending the "reputation" of another liberal.

OBAMA OWNS THIS ECONOMIC MESS, NOT BUSH.

You don't even understand the words you use....

An authoritarian socialist would be the Pope or other religious leaders. Barack Obama is a neoliberal ("economic right") moderate authoritarian. There's nothing socialist in any of Obama's policies.
You look at one insignificant factoid (that may or may not be true and/or relevant), and think it tells the storry.

How about looking at the number, volume and intrusiveness of regulatory rules penned since he took office.

Have you ever heard conservatives articulating anything? All I get are rehashed slogans.

e. higher food and gas prices

g. higher taxes

In short, Obama is creating a nation of government dependents, which is a defacto move to socialism not by design, but by ineptitude.

You could just as well blame greedy landlords for that.

I think it is fair to say that only true cretins would believe anything on that website.

Well, you are free to erroneously believe that your buying power is improving as the years roll by. It does feel good.

If you really feel that the analysis is erroneous, do it over again using average wage and the same commodities. Show us. If the result indicates buying power increasing for such items, I'll be the first to admit that my assumption was in error. The one thing you are not allowed to do (and retain any credibility) is move the goalposts.

--------------------------------------

I calculated the portion of income needed to buy a gallon of gas in 1920 and today compared to the median income. In that case, it is essentially unchanged (approx. .0001 or .01%)--which is a disgrace considering the vastly improved technology in the extractive industry.

But if you take the average miles driven per year today, compared to 1920, the cost today far exceeds the cost then--which in itself brings a new variable into the mix. Today, on average, we are required to drive at least a hundredfold farther than we would have been in 1920. Communities were much more self contained then in employment, commerce, and services. Urban sprawl was in its infancy.
