Oh, I get it! You're saying black people can't be educated. Perhaps because they're genetically inferior in your mind?
There is no school district in the entire nation where Blacks score on par with Whites or Asians. Not one. Do you think that I'm wrong? No. You know it's true. So cease the feigned indignation.
$100 million doesnt go as far as most Tea Partiers think. Thats the cost of a mid-to large sized high school. Most Tea Party brains are back in the 50's and think a high school cost $3 million to build and text books $10 or so. Kids dont need computers just keep the old Underwood-Olivetti. When the kids get out of school they can go buck hay or work in the coal mines.
Why is your post about Tea Partiers?
I don't think Mark Z gave that money expecting to BUILD schools. I think he expected it to be used in existing facilities to somehow improve results. His money was wasted because of NJ mismanagement and waste.
You're right about the cost of a high school. Except in LA they can cost as much as $578M.
The results of the $200 million experiment were disappointing, according to now-Mayor Ras Baraka and other critics. The foundation had five years to spend the money, and in 2016, it closed its doors
Like sweeping a dirt floor. Like putting chrome wheels on a car with a blown engine. Until the we help the poor fix their family and find their way back to God this will continue to get worse.
I thought Chris Christie was a conservative with financial responsibility no democrat could match.
That's why he was pressured to run for president instead of Romney, and people still make noises about next election cycle.
If Christie was Conservative, he'd be sitting in Trumps cabinet right now. But like Mitt "I'm a Progressive Republican" Romney, he got put out to pasture.
Education can't be improved by spending more money on it. We all ready spend more than any other country, except for 1 or 2 minor ones. And NJ is near the top state in ed spending. We've maxed out in improving education with money.
It is very apparent that the OP knows little about long-term projects and the uplifting of humans through education. This is not measured in years - or even in decades.
Only the most selfish people think the world revolves around them - or even their lifetimes.
Most of the institutions we favor have been around for a century or longer.
Get back to us about Z or Buffet or Gates in 100 years or so...then we will listen.

That is a criminal amount of money to spend on a high school with 4200 students.
He should have done like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, that probably has rules for receiving grants, as well as a curriculum or some guidelines attached. You can’t just write a check to a bunch of administrators and say, here’s a hundred million bucks, see what you can do. The money would have been better spent on research and development of something that would work to improve poor schools instead of the old idea of just increasing spending.

No, you said it and probably believe it yourself. Don’t project your racism onto others.
