I often will. Sometimes I think it's the only way to find out what is going on besides what some team owner said in the privacy of his own home, or if Hillary is going to run in 2016.

Also tired of the 'selective news' for ratings gain. Or news that is buried because it is politically incorrect.
I do. And when I'm really interested in something I find the sources and read those...and often the sources of the sources. The "news", whether from the left, right, or foreign, often has a bent.

Yup. I'll read RT, china daily,
BBC , al jazeera, and nyt/ cnn just to compare. It's quite amazing how starkly contrast the spin between each source is.

It's lazy to only read one source for "news" ..... that's not "news", it's a Bubble.
It doesn't matter if it's FOX, CNN, BBC, AlJ, NPR or any other source - it's doesn't matter what source you might want to confine yourself to, you get their interpretation of what they consider to be "news".

For example - if you like the UK News sources, you will get very different "news" on BBC, The Telegraph and The Guardian. The same is true on the "news" sources in Israel or any other country. Politics is local and the "news" sources in all countries reflect viewpoints. I read a lot of Foreign News - mostly in the Mid East and it took me years to work out the ownership and view point of these sources. You know you are getting the 'real story' when opposite view points are reporting the same thing.

The Guardian picks up stories that fall through the cracks here. Bild to try and retain my German. Al-Jazeera is really good for differing perspectives as well.

I'm something of a news junkie.

I read Al Jazeera, the Guardian (UK), Haaretz (Israel, in translation), and La Jornada (Mexico, in Spanish) in addition to the NYT, Boston Globe (my hometown paper), and the WSJ. I used to keep CNN on in the background throughout the day but can't even bring myself to do that anymore.

Yes, if you want to be truly informed about world news, and news that offers different perspectives, it's imperative to go outside the bubble and read international news sites. But you must understand that all news sources have potential propaganda agendas and are not necessarily unbiased. There's a lot of anti-American propaganda in international news. Personally, I love news aggregators. And the WSJ is my favorite newspaper.

Al Jazeera also has some excellent news/documentary programs on different aspects of the US (for example watch the one they did on Baltimore).
