You know this is a nonsense complaint when the NRA says so. The USDA has a police unit in the Forest Service. Only the delusional cons think everybody except law enforcement should be armed with heavy weaponry. Also, the BLM is in the Dept of Interior, so this thread is an utter fail. Its sad that an elected official doesn't know the structure of the organizations he is responsible for overseeing.

And, delusional libs think that ONLY law enforcement should be armed, heavy or otherwise, and in the same breath say that if the citizens were disarmed, violence would plummet. If that's the case, LE wouldn't need guns either, or could get by with a good old' mod 10 revolver, just for show. Wouldn't even need ammunition for it. Maybe blanks, to scare the law breakers is all.
Perhaps our nation should treat border enforcement like Mexico and imprison their nation's military and police who regularly cross into our nation while armed with weapons.
If the USDA ever got enough funding to do what you just said, you would probably be here talking about over regulations.
and the reason we have the USDA doing it and not the FBI, is because the FBI has bigger fish to fry.
I guess that's the same excuse for EPA raids and Dept of Education raids and other alphabet agency raids ?
They have to do it themselves because the FBI has "bigger fish to fry" ?
the better question is why do a large majority of federal government agencies need firearms of any kind?
