It's the Daily Caller. Take it with a grain of salt.
Khamenei is an aging ruler of a democratic theocracy.
Iran has a very young population, and they are much less willing to follow the Ayatollahs than their parents. Their Green Revolution of 2009-2010 was premature, but was strong and bloody. Now, four years later, after electing a much less militantly anti-American president, Khamenei can bluster all he wants, but he knows how thin the line he's walking on is.
Iran will have nuclear power. They are very close to being a first tier economy, and they need all the energy they can produce. Whether those reactors will produce atomic weaponry is another matter entirely. Iran has never declared war first on another country in it's modern history, and jobs, not war, are now the first thing their citizens want. The Iranians want to become the dominant economic force in the middle east, and now that Syria has gone to hell, their chances of becoming the economic leader have increased dramatically.
Declaring war on the U.S. would put a halt to everything the citizenry wants the most, and would reverse all the civil improvements and civic gains the citizens have achieved.
Atomic weapons have to be tested. If an Iranian test is ever done, Israel will bomb their facilities to rubble before the dust has cleared away from the test. Iran knows it, and they have no means to prevent Israel from doing it.
So don't start the hand wringing. The United States doesn't have very much to worry about when it comes to Iran just yet.
Shrug off bluster as bluster. Rattling a saber makes noise, drawing it doesn't.
Iran's emerging middle class want better relationships with the rest of the world and the mullahs are having an increasingly hard time getting the urban classes in Iran to back them. The fact that they have to bus in people from the farm districts to get a good demonstration going is quite interesting (they're paid with a boxed lunch, hence the the term "juice-box demonstrator").
Of course, any heavy-handed reaction on the US' side will be a god-given opportunity for the Mullahs to get people to flock around the flag.
So here's what I'll be doing: Work to keep the sort of people who think it's appropriate to sing "Bomb Iran" to the tune of "Barbara Ann" from gaining influence.

No they won't declare war, it's covert...he said jihad ...all the "freedom fighters" fight in the name of Islam, not Iran
Stop supporting this worthless, lying, inexperienced, racist, corrupt, incompetent scumbag for president.
Well, I didn't vote for him in 2012, and he will be the President until January 20, 2017 whether I support him or not.
But for the record, this is precisely why I did vote for him in 2008; to keep the war-loving loons out of power. Are you chickenhawks afraid you won't get your war, or what?
