If NY wasn't just as much of a gun-loving northern state people wouldn't have been protesting the laws which were put in place recently. Stop being a moron and acting like states in the South are the only ones filled with people who realize that in many cases a well used firearm is the best, most efficient and safest way of protecting your home, family and property... that's why the cops all carry them. That's why when someone kicks in your door you don't call a plumber to rush over with his pipe wrenches, you call the police who rush over with guns.

A dead body is not a dead body, there's a HUGE difference between a kid getting shot by someone in a school and a home invader getting shot in someone's living room after breaking down a door. A dead body is not a dead body, that's why most of the numbers being thrown around in this thread are ridiculous. A guy getting shot while walking down a sidewalk is very different than some guy shooting himself with a shotgun in his closet because his girlfriend left him.

Moron? New Yorkers like the fact that the murder rate in the city is half of that in Dallas and Houston. Do you think they would rather have guns than safety? New York is too smart for that. Who's the moron, here? Lol
I have proven you wrong on this...why do you continue to lie?

Yea, I understand about "rate" in the end who has the most people killed per year?

If one state has 300 killed per year, and another has 600 killed...in your eyes, the 600 killed is less than the 300....because it at a "rate".....you're a sick person!

If the public supported it why are so many people against it? Why not put it up for a vote?

The moron here is the guy who supports defenseless people getting stabbed to death because it looks better on the gun homicide websites they worship.

Does that include the rates in a city like Chicago with very strict gun control laws on the books?

Girl stabbed 19 times.

If only we banned guns, this wouldn't have happened.

Serious question for those that want ban the 2nd amendment. Do you really think if we ban guns that one will ever kill anyone else again?

Perhaps if those 4k had defended themselves with a gun the numbers might not be so high. But then all the dead are not the good guys anyway.

It isn't the background check per se that people don't like. It's the fact that there is no way of knowing what happens on the backend when a background check occurs. Is the fact that you wanted to buy a gun entered into some database somewhere and stored? No way to tell. What use could they have for that information? No way to tell. The recent NSA controversies prove that such concerns are not unfounded.

It would seem to me that many gun rights advocates are also pro-life in one context, but for any gun control laws are there most vocal opponents despite the fact that it may save lives. Either you believe that saving lives from senseless gun violence is an admirable goal or you don't. If you don't, just admit it.
There is no relationship whatsoever between abortion and guns.
