According to the US census 63% of the population is white (non Hispanic) and 77.9% is white/Hispanic, so if Google's workforce is 62-64% white/Hispanic the whites are underrepresented on the surface... Even that is overly simplistic because you have to look at the people coming out of the programs Google hires from. I just graduated from UofChicago's financial engineering (mathematics) program and my classes were 1. overwhelmingly male. 2 overwhelmingly Asian.
Human is a race, everything else is pigment. You can pick and choose your culture...if you are accepted into it it's good all around. If not, choose another.

Bones (skull+pelvis) are a better indicator of race than skin color. So how is race about "pigment"?
"Black" woman with albinism; still identifiable as African due to face structure+characteristics.
I hate most media outlets. Google is actually a really great company. Too many people these days are too obsessed with quotas and making everything out to be racist.
Even that's shaky since I've known anglo white people with Spanish last names and they DON'T see themselves as "Hispanic" at all. It's a BS label IMHO.
Like calling the 1960's segregationist Leander Perez "Hispanic" would cause la raza's Angel Gutierrez to have a stroke even tho both men can trace their families back to Hispanic countries.
