I agree.....you can thank the minimum wage for that.
I have always thought working for other would only make money for them.
This is just a fact. It's also why there will always be poor folks. Not everyone can be a business owner. The only other ways to make beaucoup bucks are to invest in the market - (Horrors!), or inherit it from a very rich relative.
Yes, the poor will always be among us. It is up to the individual to determine if they want to be among the poor. If they don't want to be poor then it is up to them to do something.
What we have today is a lot of poor who have been convinced that the government can make them prosperous. How wrong they are. They refuse to acknowledge that they've been lied to.
Maybe, maybe not. The best way to reduce pregnancy is to educate women about sex at a young age in school. The more they know, the better the decisions they will make.
Already happening and was when I was in school. I find it impossible to believe that in this day and age women in this country don't know how babies happen. You can lead a horse to water but can't make them drink.
Accidents happen. The same accident over and over is just ignorance or stupidity.

I agree. it's like they've never even seen a stork.
It is not the fault of the rich that the poor do not save.
Shhhh nobody wants to hear the truth I know a lot of people who do make a decent living but have absolutely nothing saved and I know a few people who make very low wages but save a little every payday, it's all about self accountability. My parents were poor, my Dad worked hard all his life for low wages but they saved whatever they could every payday and when they retired they owned a house and were comfortable. If my parents could do it anyone can.
There are just too many people who think others owe them instead of making their own living. The rich don't owe anybody.
Short answer: working folks don't have the resources to buy politicians, tilt campaigns, and hire armies of lawyers, lobbyists and PR mouthpieces.
But the wealthy do...
Small business don't have the resources to buy politicians, tilt campaigns, and hire armies of lawyers, lobbyists and PR mouthpieces. Big business does have the resources to buy politicians.
The FED pumps money into the market. The very rich people benefited, maybe the top 5-10%. They make money without contributing anything to the real economy. With all that money the very rich "steal" goods and services from the lower 90%. They "pay" with all the dead presidents. The lower 90% buys goods and services from the other workers. But no one can buy goods from the rich people because they produce and contribute nothing to the real economy.
You could say it's the modern kind of slavery.
