Israel traded 1000 'terrorists' for 1 Israeli soldier.
Soldier. Big difference. Bergdahl was a deserter. He left a note indicating his intent to desert.
"Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl left behind a note in his tent saying he had become disillusioned with the Army, did not support the American mission in Afghanistan and was leaving to start a new life."
Perhaps the one good thing that will come out of this is that when he is finally back on our soil and unguarded, his remaining time left on this planet will be very short.

Ronald Reagan negotiated with Iranian terrorists.
Bush routinely negotiated with Iraqi terrorists.
But then again, did Israel, Reagan, Bush or Obama really negotiate with terrorists? You can call the Taliban whatever you want, but they are not classified as a terrorist organization. They are our opponents in the ground war in Afghanistan. What did the Bush admin call them? They were called, and still are "enemy combatants". Learn the difference, and tell the Congress hacks to study up too. Al Qaeda is a different story, because they are classified a terrorist organization.
The kind of disrespect I see being displayed against a freed American serviceman is shameful. American people have sunk deeper in the cesspool than I could have imagined.
I think you put the issue of negotiations in perspective. However, I'm not in agreement with you last comment. I'll admit that I know little about the facts of the soldier's disappearance, capture, captivity and release ... beyond short summaries I'm now reading. But I do remember listening to someone who said he was his squad leader who said 6 other soldiers were killed while they searched for the missing one and that he and others in the unit were incensed at this release. I'm going to reserve final judgment.

you can keep your respect for the deserter. i'll reserve mine for the six soldiers who died attempting to get this loser back.
Sometimes it's good to consider the source of your "knowledge".
Apparently I'm not the only one who considers them terrorists. Pretty much every news report on this story is asking why are we negotiating with terrorists?

It's always better to study up, as opposed to be taken for a ride by the MSM.

Maybe they are...what in your opinion makes them terrorists?
Oh well. On this issue I'm just going to defer to the opinions of the soldiers especially the ones who were in Afghanistan during that time. I really don't need to hear the opinions of various conservative and liberal pundits on this one.
So far the opinions I've read from various soldiers are this guy is pond scum but they don't think he should have been left to rot in Afghanistan.
