Of course, Democrats don't want that. They want to keep those kids trapped in those failing public schools. You see, the under-educated and low-income vote 63-64% Democrat. Keeping as many as possible dumb and therefore poor guarantees a larger low-income voter base for Democrats.

They haven't tried enough. Offer a true reform. Stop making this partisan. Knock off your strawman argument and come with solutions.

I've yet to see a Republican solution for anything.

Same 'ol CRAP... cut taxes on the rich, no business regulations, privatize everything once run by the government.

What would be some of your solutions? Because I think almost all of us would agree that alot of these kids are trapped in a situation that never should have been tolerated.

There isn't a single Republican leaning city in the Top 10. Can anyone explain why this is?

The left is always using any and every tragedy to sensationalize gun violence, but all the gun violence is happening in left dominated cities.

Maybe the left should willingly give up their 2nd amendment rights and save us all from their violent ways.

In Arizona and Texas there is a shotgun waiting for a would be intruder and the ability to have armed citizens with CCW (Arizona you do need that) keeps the bad guys away.

I surprise that LA is not on that list?

Stop trapping kids in failing public schools. Only Democrats are in favor of that. For political purposes.

Are you aware that by 8th grade, only 1/3 of all public school students in this country are educated to grade-level proficiency? 2/3 are functioning below grade-level.

And are you aware that by 8th grade, not one single state even educates half of its public school students to grade-level proficiency?

Our country's public schools are systemically dysfunctional. The problems are widespread and pervasive, and they've been highly resistant to any attempts to improve their performance. Time to move on to alternatives.

Read what Michelle Rhee, a lifelong Democrat AND an educator, has to say on this topic:
Michelle Rhee: My Break With the Democrats

And remember that 2/3 of Black and Hispanic adults support school vouchers. One day they'll wake up and realize how badly Democrats have been screwing them and their children, and STOP voting for their oppressors.

Lightbulb Let's broaden the perspective just a little bit

These cities all exist within states.

MI: GOP governor & legislature
LA: GOP gov & leg
OH: GOP gov & leg
MO: Dem gov & GOP leg
MS: GOP gov & leg
NJ: GOP gov & Dem leg

But it's very convenient to move the goalposts into a narrow favorable position when your goal is to simply bash.

Carry on.

Repeating the same post over and over again doesn't answer the question.

What is the conservative solution to fixing this issue? I didn't ask for a Democratic criticism. I asked for a solution.

I would move to county funding for all public schools instead of municpiality. If you live in the county, parents should be allowed to send their children to any school in that county. School choice is the best avenue currently.

I don't support vouchers. We don't need economics dictating education. That is just more perpetuation of income inequality.

School choice. Competition for students.

Trapping kids in failing public schools that resist improvement, à la the Democrats' politically expedient modus operandi, won't cut it. Even Michelle Rhee, a lifelong Democrat AND an education reformer, agrees. She's pro-voucher, just like 2/3 of Black and Hispanic adults.

Inadequate response. We already know that not one single state educates even half of its public school students to grade-level proficiency. Your solution still leaves far too many under-educated.
