Who cares about your personal phobias regarding this man? The guy is "close to 60" and is still legally able to carry a firearm, I assume, and you've only mentioned "your" personal "opinions" about this man based on almost 60 years of history none of which included any violent acts or any "poor judgement" involving firearms.
This is the problem that I have with people like you and the antigun crowed... You think our rights should be violated based on how you "feel" about us and based on some baseless imagined wild west shootout that you dreamed up in your minds, but just about never happens... Millions of people, unknown to you all, ALREADY carry around concealed weapons and you all are just fine with that, but God forbid your ignorant bliss is disturb because then your schizophrenic imaginations start to run rampant...
Everyone's favorite reason for carrying guns is some imagined threat that they can deal with by a shootout. You think people carry guns for exercise? You're accusing people of inventing fantasies while every proud gun owner claims to carry their weapon for their own fantasies.

People own guns as a precaution and for the same reason why people have life insurance, wear seat belts, lock their doors at night, and buy security alarms. There are millions who have conceal carry permits and roughly half the U.S. adult population own firearms. The threat of being assaulted, murdered, raped, robbed, etc is more likely to happen than the basely fantasies of open carry gun owners having an o. k. corral gunfight while trying to play cop...
If carrying your guns in public is a hallmark of a free society then the freest country in the world is Somalia.
Straw mans argument? I was speaking in general. With any freedom, there's a risk that someone will abuse it. Carrying a firearm in public is a protected freedom that you're just going to have to deal with. Many people like to be responsible for their own safety and well being.

If you are worried about tyranny, go to the voting booth. That is your protection.
I don't carry a gun when I leave my home because I'm worried about the government, and most people don't carry because they're worried about the goverment. They're worried about being one of the millions of crime victims each year... Also, we aren't Iranians and what they allowed to happen in their country would not fly here. Also, I tend to believe that they have put up a pretty good fight & have been a thorn in our behinds ever since we invaded their country partly because they were armed before hand.
When we're out bird hunting it's not uncommon for the 4-6 of us to ride into town for lunch after bagging a few in the morning. Damn near everyone in town is in blaze orange. Every truck has bird dogs in them and shotguns. Not one owner, NOT ONE of them carries their shotgun into the eatery.
In fact most would consider you a moron or a threat. You're likely to get shot doing a stunt like that around here.

Thanks. Such A basic premise seems to evade some people.
. But doing so with holstered handguns would be more effective and a lot less controversial.
To be fair, Texas does not allow the open carry of a handgun, that's why they are putting on these demonstrations. They are trying to get their legislature to pass laws allowing it.
There you go again ASSUMING something. How do we know that he is doing this legally? Could be that he has a violence conviction or two and still owns unregistered guns.
Pretty much every gun in this country is an "unregistered gun".... There is no national registry that covers all gun owners.
if the NRA is against it. . .it must be beneficial to America and its relationship to guns - i.e .the NRA is only against something that would hurt gun makers pocket books.
have enough idiots doing this crap. . .we get better gun control laws. we win. NRA loses
if we have more gun control laws, the only ones who really get hurt by those gun control laws are the law abiding citizens. gun control laws never effect the criminals as they never have followed the law in the 1st place.
