Almost 800 babies and children were buried in a mass grave in Ireland near a home for unmarried mothers run by nuns, according to new research Wednesday which throws more light on the Irish Catholic Church's troubled past.

800 babies buried in septic tank at Irish home for unmarried mothers

Reminds me of all those Chick pamphlets I read! How true they were!
Wonder how many of those babies were by the nuns and priests?

They should put that on their marketing materials as an example of being pro-life.

Not the first time Catholic followers have been hypocritical recently.

I was raised Catholic but once I got old enough to truly educate myself on organized religion I stopped "participating".
I still have my faith but I don't have to answer to any "man" about how I live my life.

No organized religion is altruistic IMHO. They are run by "men" for the benefit of "men".
And they all want your money.

Individual beliefs vs what an organized religion does is not quite the same.

The true history of the Catholic Church is anything but altruistic.
And it's out there and documented but few Catholics actually care to know the truth.

Truly sick. I am 2nd generation Irish-American and my Mother may not be here today if her Mother listened to some of the religious hypocrites in Ireland.

Deposited in "a place of forgetting". Catholicism has been slow in coming into a renniasance. This is a sad testimony to a history of often brutal doctrine. Organized and powerful "churches" all have such history. In all faiths across the globe. There is a special place in Hell for those who committed such acts as this. They fancied themselves favored of God but He turned his face from them long ago.

Children ARE favored. They are the innocents. Any doctrine that does not recognize that is NOT of God. These people who ran this joint, and those who ran and run those like it are lower than hyenas on the scale. Thinking that THEY have the power to judge. And punish. Punish children, in most brutal ways, for NOTHING. Sadists in habit. No better than a coven construct cult. The kind of thing modern horror tales revolve around, and the truth is more horrifying than imagination.

This is why we have the 1a. To keep organizations like this from having centralized power in government, and subjugating the people under them. The framers knew, all to well, how much power the church held in Europe and England. They didn't want that here. Dumas' covered this corrupt power in The Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask. Its interesting to note, that back then, Islam was the "liberal and enlightened" faith. Practicing tolerance and acceptance in the name of knowledge. Oh...what a tangled web we weave......
