I suspect that the average American would love to see Bush and Company leave tomorrow. In other countries the President or Prime Minister can be pushed out by a simple no confidence vote. In America we can have a terrible President like Bush and we are stuck with him for four years.

Maybe we need a better way to get rid of a terrible President in the middle of their four year term. But not so easy that they would be afraid to make tough decisions and make all decisions based on popular opinion.

I don't think it's fair to burden ANY man with a penalty he can't spell, or prononuce.

Well, if half of the stuff he has been accused of had ANY REAL EVIDENCE, it would be quiet easy to impeach him. But the dems won't do it because they know the hand they are holding on a lot of it is a flat out bluff. If they aren't bluffing and they haven't started impeachment proceedings, they are gutless.

With today's political climate, with so much baseless finger-pointing and mud-slinging occuring on both sides of the aisle, I think making the removal of a President from office easier would only encourage senseless witch hunts and in general not benefit the country. Flawed though it may be the current system works pretty well.

Absolutely agree, all this talk about impeachment is for one purpose, red meat to stir up the democrat base, any body with any sense realize that there has been no impeachable offense committed by the president or veep.

Nope, I think it's already too easy to impeach a president. Just look what happened with Clinton; it was purely political. Impeaching a president doesn't really mean anything anyway; they have to be convicted by the Senate to be thrown out of office, and Clinton was acquitted (thank god).

If impeachment was easier, then every time a President made a mistake we would have impeachment precedings. Look at what a waste of time and tax dollars the Clinton impeachment was.......and he remained in office. Our Congress has more important things to do than be tied up in an impeachment process.

I fully agree. If it was too easy, it would be used wrongly.

We've had a lot of Presidents that have messed up, time to time. But we can't impeach all of them. We wouldn't have any continuenty. Every pres we had would be a newbie. haha
