Man made global warming is junk science and a hoax; follow the money. But you, as a "warmer" believe it despite all of the evidence to the contrary.
Keeping some dry goods, a decent supply of potable water, candles, batteries, flashlights, a camping stove, diesel generator and fuel to run them both, along with a couple well-maintained firearms and ammo? Good idea.
Keeping several tonnes of dry goods, having a well drilled in your nuclear-fallout grade bunker equipped with several tankers of fuel and enough guns and ammo to start another Viet Nam? Well, let's just say you may want to invest in some large rolls of industrial stregth aluminum foil to make hats thick enough to keep those alien mind-control rays from affecting the way you think.
In that case, you need to come up with another name than "prepper" to disparage such people - because a prepper is simply someone who is prepared for anything - even the left wing hoax of "global warming".
There is no one individual who has enough guns and ammo to "start another Vietnam", and that war was started by peasants who were tired of colonial rule, and who got co-opted by Marxists who had studied outside Vietnam, like Ho Chi Minh.

I'm not sure I see the point of this thread. People desperately wanting to put their faith in something is hardly a modern invention. It's been around for centuries. What was Hitler? What was Democracy? What was Christianity?
People like to put their faith in things.
Now, if there was some evidence to suggest that was changing, which I would warmly welcome, or perhaps a revolutionary idea to make people not feel the need to 'identify,' then I'd be interested.
