Do you like having the weekends off? Thank a union.

Do you like working in a place that's not a death-trap? Thank a union.

Do you like the fact that we don't have child labor in this nation? Thank a union.

Yeah, sure - many unions have fallen from grace over the years, but to turn around and claim they ALL are "terrible, liberal things!" is just laughable and ignores the positive benefits they have given us over the years.

I find it ironic that those on the far-right believe in "taking a stand against the excessive power and wealth of big government." But when it comes to unions - the very groups that do the SAME THING in the corporate world - they want to meekly roll over and kiss the corporate boot on their neck instead.
No, I think I'll thank capitalism and competition for labor.
Fyi unions membership has never even been near half of the labor pool, you are propagating myths.

So true.

We learned President Harding busted Unions, leading the most prosperous nation ever in the history of the world.

Lol... sure, whatever. Rewrite history to fit your belief system - that's the motto around here.

Newsflash - unions earned you those rights, not "capitalism." After all, if it were just capitalism and competition for labor, places like China would be bastions of worker's rights... but they aren't...

Every species on earth is in competition for resources.
Some fight wars to get the resources needed for their species. Some die of starvation because of the lack of resources.
Natural Law of supply and demand. No matter what you do, you will never beat mother nature.

Which has absolutely nothing to with this thread or behavior in an advanced society... unless you're advocating a "might makes right" approach to everything, which it sounds like you are. Have fun with that.

This country is declining because service and consumption don't provide growth opportunities.

The majority of Americans read at an 8th grade level and are not math proficient.
So companies are building in India, China, Singapore and Vietnam where they can find college educated workers.

America got fat and lazy while they were top dog and let the world pass them by.
The wakeup call happened in the 60's and again in the early 90's and few heeded it. Ross Perot was one who tried to tell people what was happening.

Unions would not have saved America from what happened.
Globalization is bigger than US unions.

And I would add 60 years of liberal welfare entitlement programs has lead to the lazy and entitled mentality.

It has everything to do with your post. Especially your strawman comparison to China.
You can never beat mother nature. Advanced or not. Trying to defeat mother nature, has its consequences. The worst consequence is extinction.
