Imagine a country where we could all unite and speak the same language. Imagine how much better communications would be if we all spoke the same language. Think to the days when people wanted to be Americans and integrate into the land of opportunity.

I am all for a national language of English. Unite!

Imagine a country where we all spoke the same language, worshipped the same god, followed the same leader and believed we were the masters of all.

I do not have to imagine such a country. I have read about it in the history books. It was not a pleasant place for anyone different.

I’ll gladly put up with the differences, even if I have to learn a foreign language, than the horrors of creating the sameness.

What on Earth makes people think that a national language is the first step toward a national religion??? The two truly have nothing to do with one another..... If someone was pushing toward Latin as our official language THEN I'd say you might wanna worry...

Germany and the like countries all use English as the universal language when hop scotching through the countries.

How, when so many of us already speak English? A national language doesn't mean you won't get to buy a product and still not see the instructions in three different languages.
