Obama keeping his promise to his father(dreams of my father) cutting the USA down to size.

President Obama has installed Ms. Caldwell, known as a “terror of a prosecutor,” as head of the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice. It has been over a decade since Ms. Caldwell destroyed Arthur Anderson, and with it, 85,000 jobs—only to be reversed by the Supreme Court nine to nothing

War on Wall Street combined with "thank you Obama for ruining the economy" has to be the funniest piece of irony I've seen here in awhile.

Yes, everyone that disagrees with you is part of a brainwashed collective/bribed group/hive mind.

You do realize real storm troopers, or whatever you fantasy of persecution is about, shot people they disagreed with?

It's not like online where people make comments, have discussions and cite sources...in other words using their freedom of speech. So far no one has shot at you I know of.

Can the Obama haters get on the same page?
They criticize Obama for not prosecuting financial crimes and then turn around and condemn him when he appoints a bull dog. They seem to fixate on Elizabeth Warren's alleged embellishment of her native American heritage and ignore her attempts at reform.

Arthur Anderson was up to its eyeballs in the Enron debacle. They were convicted. SCOTUS overturned the conviction based on a technicality in terms of the language used to inform the jury of the laws AA broke.

What corporate Board of Directors was going to vote in favor of retaining or hiring Enron's accounting firm after it hit the fan?

AA closed their accounting business and focused on management consulting.

It's an obvious conflict of interest when a the same company provides management consulting and accounting/financial controls services to the same client, especially when the client is cooking the books.

Greed and corruption brought down Enron and the accounting segment of AA's business, not a bull dog of a prosecutor.

Seems the author of the article within the link views prosecution of major financial crimes to be anti-business.

I thought the US economy was supposed to be doing so well based on the markets.

Today, the numbers came out and it was the worst GDP non-recession quarter since the GDP has been tracked. -2.96% yet the markets still went up. So much for equities having much to do with the economy.

And they'll defend it as a good thing. Obama never did have plans for economic growth.

-2.96% woooowe!

What you forgot to mention is that she passed through the senate with ease and that nobody on the Republican side asked much of objected much. You could blindly whine and say this is Obama destroying the economy, but given that his opposition really didn't care and she served under a Republican regime when last in office it would be rather silly. She's a partner at a major law firm and seems like a very smart lady.

Here's why economists will shrug off a dismal GDP report - Jun. 25, 2014
U.S. GDP Dropped 2.9% In The First Quarter 2014, Down Sharply From Second Estimate - Forbes

It's funny how partisans on the internet are upset about this but those well educated economists say there's very valid reasons for it. Hmm, I wonder who is better informed and educated on these things.
