Not a NASCAR fan but definitely a golfer. I can understand how anyone who hasn't played golf or doesn't know the pro-players would find it boring to watch, however.

Unlike some in here I can accept criticism of golf but they resort to words like "hate" when it comes to you not liking soccer or stating facts that it is the most popular with a certain demographic group in this country.

What I like about golf is that it is not a team sport. It is individuals competing against each other. Although they do have "some" team competitions and some are international ones and can be very exciting to watch.

Basketball players can rest on the bench. Soccer players are in for the whole game. If the are substituted it is for the rest of the game.

While I'm not a fan of soccer, I can agree when it comes to Golf or NASCAR. Who cares about watching cars drive at high speeds in circles for hours? Golf? Ugh!

Harrier never said that he hated the sport.

Harrier has played soccer, and enjoyed playing the game.

He is interested in the World Cup, and you can go over to the soccer forum and see his posts - none of which are "hateful".

All Harrier did was make an observation about a particular game, and you came out with "hater".

Typical liberal - you can't defend your argument, so you attack the opposition to shut down the debate.

Ann Coulter says soccer is un-American and not a real 'sport'

Little blatherin' Annie should read a little more, she'd be wise to follow Abe Lincoln's advice:

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt"

Anyway, back on topic. Ann Coulter is trying to make some money. No one takes her seriously.

I don't understand how soccer isn't "American." What is an "American" sport?

Masculinity? Rage? Guns? Fast Cars? Someone fill me in.
To me an American sport is one that was developed, for the most part, in America. Baseball and football are quintessential American sports. Yes, I know they have roots in Europe (or elsewhere), but they're our sports now.

Also, I don't think you necessarily need to be able to play a sport to have an opinion on it. I can't shoot hoops for s**t but I hate basketball.
