Sports include baseball, football, basketball, and hockey. Those who play those sports are athletes. If they are doing anything else, they may be fit individuals, but they are not athletes.

I do not accept this circular argument. You must submit objective criteria, allowing for the evaluation of each activity in turn. Clearly, you cannot do so, because it would force you to admit that soccer is a sport. Face it, you've got nothing. You lose the debate. Now, go crawl back to your corner and lick your wounds.

See you next time!

Really? Then you haven't played with adults.

And your attitude of "I could kick their butt without breaking a sweat", well, back that up. How?

Please explain to me how soccer is not a sport. You have not proven as such. And don't ask me to prove that it is a sport. I'm asking the questions.

For anyone who believes soccer isn't a real sport, what constitutes a real sport to you? And don't give me the name of a sport, give me a definition of what constitutes a real sport. That is one thing I have not seen. If one is to make such biased opinions, it is required to back it up with some solid facts.

At least when the Women's World Cup comes along, there is something to watch, and its not the game.

They don't exactly chase the ball around.

Soccer people like to claim that the players run for 90 minutes, but Harrier mainly sees them kicking the ball back and forth, jogging for a short time, stopping, kicking the ball again, and every once in a while sprinting before biting someone in the shoulder or flopping on the ground.

This activity typically ends in a 0-0 tie and then the game is settled by players taking turns kicking the ball past the goalie from the 18 yard line.

If someone actually does score in regulation, it is attributed to "the hand of God".

Oh yeah. and the "they run for 90 minutes" people never mention that break after the 45 minute mark.

Spoken like someone who is unable to define what a sport or athlete is. Instead you just choose to deflect.

Nope, spoken like someone who knows the rules of debate. You LOSE, Glitch! You backed yourself into a corner with no escape. Now, be a gentlemen and admit your defeat like a good sportsman. We'll see you next time.

I do not watch women or men playing games, I rarely watch any kind of sports at all. I would much rather participate than watch. Only when there is an exceptional athlete will watching the sport peak my interest, otherwise I find watching sports to be boring the vast majority of the time.
