"Lois Lerner is the poster child for out of control bureaucrats; but I never really understood why she (a career federal employee-senior grade) would find it necessary to stick her head up, act contrary to regulation and law, to block the organizing tea party groups during an election cycle. Surely, she knew the consequences.
Until I watched the DVD "The Billionaire's Tea Party."
The tea party was effective in electing 32% of Congress and had (have) numerous grass roots organizations who have demonized Obama. The tea party's momentum had to be derailed.
Lerner did in fact (although she won't admit it) weaponized a portion of the IRS, against opponents to the party in power. All by herself, apparently.
The only thing that ticks me off is that they went about it stupidly. The organizations in question all deserved extra scrutiny imo.
Now they will all get blanket approval. BTW that is part of the agenda of the Congressional Republican Committee's investigating this. Anyone who doesn't understand that is naĂŻve.
Its a Federal judge telling them to stop their lying.
Quote:
The IRS will now sit back and approve every organization that should not be approved lest they involve themselves in a Congressional witchhunt.
Its a very old Republican tactic and it plays very well with all Americans, because who doesn't love to hate the IRS.
Meanwhile, just like the last time it occurred revenues will plunge as tax cheats are emboldened by Congress.
Tax cheats will be encouraged because they will understandably believe that if its OK for the IRS to lie to us its OK to lie to them.
There have been new emails released. There was a "secret investigation" by a Lois Lerner lawyer to target certain focus groups (conservatives). Lois Lerner's lawyer has mysteriously disappeared as of July this year. The DOJ refuses to account for his whereabouts and have told the investigators to back off. More stone walling, so they will have to subpoena him. This is also a former lawyer of the White House as well as the DOJ. I'm going by memory here from Jay Sekulow live.

At the end of the day, this is what it is all about...IRS credibility about upholding the law objectively.
Folks already have a problem with the level of taxation in this country.
Assuming no WH involvement whatsoever, the complete lack of accountability and of transparency, that a bureaucrat could go this far, will raise a red flag for any fair minded person.
"On Friday, the IRS said it has also lost emails from five other employees related to the probe, including two agents who worked in a Cincinnati office processing applications for tax-exempt status.
The agency blamed computer crashes for the lost emails. In a statement, the IRS said it found no evidence that anyone deliberately destroyed evidence."

Of course they found no evidence against themselves. This is such bs. Ive had the same pos Dell laptop for nearly 10 years. Ive used on the job in tough environments and had a few blue screens of death but I have never had a hard drive crash since Ive ever owned computers. Yet this organization some how has the worst luck in the world, it just so happens to occur with individuals related to an investigation. Who in the hell believes this?!
Lois Lerner was conducting a "Secret Research Project" (her words) on people who donate to non-profit groups. Only 5% were from liberal groups, 75% were from conservative groups - just another coincidence I am sure.
Oh, and it was also revealed today that more people under investigation at the IRS (5 to be exact) also lost their emails - oh the humanity of hard drive crashes!!!

"Not a smidgeon" I bet.
I expect (at this point) for Team Obama to do everything they can to cover up - this is nothing new, they are still trying to "cover up" Fast & Furious and Benghazi (just to mention two serious issues).
The most shocking thing about all of this is how ALL the Democrats are on board with a Cover-Up of the IRS Targeting. They have to know that at some point - this is all going to be revealed. Hard drives mysteriously are "destroyed", Blackberries are mysteriously "wiped" .... nobody actually believes that the stuff just "mysteriously" happens. They have all lost their minds and .... more than that - they are losing the Trust (as a Political Party) of the American people.
The IRS touches the life of every working person and every retired person in the USA -- when it is shown that the IRS is Corrupt AND that the Democratic Party is determined to "Cover it up" - where do we go from here?
How does the US Government restore any Trust in our System when the IRS, DOJ, The "not a smidgeon" President and a Political Party that is in Power, are in cahoots to defraud the American people? This is serious stuff.
