Michelle Obama took some heat in 2008 for saying that, "for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country..."
As it turns out, that sentiment isn't all that unusual on the far left of American politics. According to a new Pew Research Center study, only 40 percent of consistently liberal Americans say they often feel proud to be Americans.
That's OK.
Normal people aren't all that proud of what liberals have been doing to America, either.
When you say, "we always see far right wing conservatives and libertarians calling for secession." Who is we? Where is this always happening? I think I've seen one post about secession and I don't remember who posted it. Even is it were far right wingers, how many times would it have to be said to be always? Hmm? What I think is funny is someone who always says always when sometimes is meant. .
I am not familiar with your member name, so you probably don't see much about secession here because you aren't reading or commenting on those threads.

Iran Contra was treason, but you havent been able to stand the government since 1988 ????
Why exactly should i be proud to be an american ?????
isnt that like being proud to be black or proud to be white ?
People need to wise up and realize that we have it nice here and if they don't like it go someplace where they think they would be happy. I'd put money on these same people wouldn't be happy anywhere.
It should be more like ... thankful to be an American. I'll bet if you weren't you would be trying to get American citizenship like so many others.
Like Bill Ayers. He claims he isn't proud to be American. Yet he has the means and ability, why the hell doesn't he go where he would be happy? Answer, he likes it in America just fine and is just like blowing smoke and wants to be a somebody. Too bad so many gave him the stage.
Young outsider, hard pressed skeptic, next generation left? Who made this poll? I need definitions of each group just to understand it. Though it looks like the Post is using it to skew their article to make it look like liberals are anti-American.
Though what I find funny is on city data, we always see far right wing conservatives and libertarians calling for secession. We see right wingers calling liberals nationalists. I think every American is as much as an American as they can be.
I am a loyalist to my family, not any state. Though I do laugh at people who say they are pro-Americans and then turn around and whine about wanting secession when they don't get their own way.
I'm proud of my spaghetti sauce and winning a neighborhood "highest score contest" on ******* in 1984.
Oh my. F-R-O-G-G-E-R is censored.
