According to the polls 80% of Americans wants Congress to act, so what it their excuse?

Here are some of the bills, some introduced by GOP, and some by Dems, and many have bipartisan support.

H.R. 15, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act

A modified version of S. 744, a major immigration bill passed by the Senate on June 27, 2013, H.R. 15 is a comprehensive bill addressing border security, a path to citizenship for the undocumented, interior enforcement, visa backlogs, higher and lower skilled work visas, visa backlog reduction, family visas, and the immigration courts, among other issues. See Guide to H.R. 15.

H.R. 3163, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform for Americaís Security and Prosperity Act of 2013 (CIR ASAP)

A comprehensive bill addressing border security, enforcement, employment verification, visa backlog reduction, STEM visa increases, and citizenship for the undocumented, among other issues, with more generous benefits and fewer punitive proposals.

H.R. 435, the Military Enlistment Opportunity Act of 2013

Would allow certain undocumented immigrants to obtain legal status through military service, including beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program

H.R. 2377, the Encourage New Legalized Immigrants to Start Training Act (ENLIST Act)

Would allow certain undocumented immigrants who entered the U.S. as children to obtain legal status through military service.

H.R. 4303, the Border Enforcement Accountability, Oversight, and Community Engagement Act of 2014

Establishes a border oversight commission and border ombudsman charged with overseeing border enforcement and protecting human rights

H.R. 3431, the American Families United Act

Amends the current immigration system to allow legalization of some of the undocumented and address the separation of immigrants from U.S. family members. No new paths to legal status are created.

No bills should go forward until the border is secure. Period. End of discussion.

80% of Americans want Congress to act, so I guess you are one of the 20% who don't want them to do anything. If the Congress feels they do not need to do what they were elected to do, then why don't they just go home?

So, Congress is passing the power of the purse to the White House? I have not heard them say it, but that would be the only way to empower the president to build thousand miles of fence and hire an army of border guards. Obama should be happy with a blank check like that.

Who is hiring these illegals? Not the MIDDLE CLASS WORKERS. We don't benefit one bit from the hiring of illegals. Take the money away and the illegals go away.

YOUR buddies are doing the hiring HappyTexan.

Rick Perry, the Governor of Texas says he does not want a fence on the border.

We don't need more laws, we just need the executive brach to enforce the laws we have. It's really that simple.

The immigration laws are there. Enforce them. That is not the job of congress. Obama and Holder are the deadbeats. Rid our country of illegals is what is needed. They need to get to work doing their job instead of asking congress to give them more money to do nothing. No amnesty EVER.

Buses that are not allowed in our country would not be our problem. Border patrol belongs on the border with guns to be used in their hands. Just saying!

We have a military. Our country is being illegally invaded; so line our border with the military, guns in their hands to use, and stop the invasion. Are we still a great country that protects our citizens or have we turned into a giant doormat? Our guns are being turned on our own citizens when they should be protecting us from the invaders.

Indirectly you do. The lawn company you contract with, the pool company, that shed you want built, the home you contract to get built, etc.

You may deal with Americans in that office but the crew that shows up is another story.

All the illegals they show on the news are smiling. Must be nice to realize you got the benefit of commuting a crime and you know you will not suffer any consequences.
