OK, now I know you are not familiar with the topic. I don't think there is a point in continuing.

Is costs $28-$40 billion a year to seal the border. Where will the money come from if Congress refuses authorize it?

I don't think these three men got rich by being stupid. One is a major conservative republican donor.

Sheldon Adelson, Warren Buffett, And Bill Gates Chastise House GOP On Immigration

Three of the world's richest men are calling on Congress to pass legislation that would overhaul the nation's immigration system and provide some sort of path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
Casino magnate and conservative donor Sheldon Adelson joined Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett and former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates to criticize House Republicans, in particular, for failing to address current policy, which they said "borders on insanity."

"A Congress that does nothing about these problems is extending an irrational policy by default; that is, if lawmakers don’t act to change it, it stays the way it is, irrational," they added. "The current stalemate -- in which greater pride is attached to thwarting the opposition than to advancing the nation’s interests -- is depressing to most Americans and virtually all of its business managers.

No, I wouldn't give him a blank check to pay for pizza.

It takes 28-40 billion a year to secure the border. How can you expect someone to do it without the required resources? You do not seem to understand the Congress is responsible for providing those resources. How can a president, any president, execute laws without funding?

Are you seriously not comprehending this?

What if there was a war, and the Congress refused to fund it, and instead blamed the president for failing to win the war. Apparently that makes sense to you, but it does not make sense to me.
Sequester was going to cause planes to fall from the sky. No, I do not buy the hyperbole. Just do what is Constitutionally mandated and enforce the current laws.

What has happened is Obama has shred any pretense that he is the president and has fallen back to the only thing he knows. A community activist.

I posted the link. You deleted it. Why would you do that? (no need to answer, I know the answer)

This thread is about the republican congress not acting on comprehensive immigration reform when we have an immigration crisis in the nation. The right wing conservatives have been all over it.
As soon as I post an OPED by three of the most prominent men in the world, one being a major donor to conservative republican causes to the tune of 10s of millions of dollars, the room goes silent.

How can you RWNJs just sit there and ignore the message that these learned, filthy rich men have just sent you and the gauntlet they have thrown down to the Republican Controlled House?
You don't want to hear the truth. All you hear is the your own voice yelling the same lies and misinformation over and over and over.

Congress includes the House and the Senate. The House would like to see the border securfe before having a plan for anyone that gets here. the bottom line is they don't trust the President or the Senate to actually do that once all of these programs are in place and they shouldn't. Amnesty was given in the 80's with the promise of securing the border and it hasn't happened. The current administration has condoned sanctuary cities (which violate federal law) and sued states that have erred on the side of enforcing. Why should the House believe that he will do anything to close the border? Right now, we have a crisis and he has done nothing. This is when he should use his pen and his phone, but he has not. That's why he's not trusted on this issue and why the House isn't going to do the comprehensive reform and then watch millions continue to flood the border.

If they can not better enforce the borders with $18 billion dollars we need to find someone that can.
That finding someone else is the key.

So what we know is that Obama has spent more yet done less.

imagine that, a big spending liberal spending money on something that he fundamentally disagrees with, yet the results are what he would want if NO money was spent on the subject.

win-win for the liberals.

The bottom line is, we could secure the southern boarder in 3 months if we wanted. it really isnt that hard a thing to do. it isnt like we dont know where the actual boarder is... even if Obama had a photo op on the boarder.... IN COLORADO....

He has in fact done several somethings.

1. He decided that since the congress would not pass his "dream act" he would just not enforce sending illegal minors home.... now some months later, we have tens of thousands of families across Central America, sending MINORS to the USA... Obama did something. He told those people "hey send us your kids!"

2. He has spent more money on illegal enforcement than any other president.... and we see more illegals coming here than ever before.... gotta wonder what that money really is all about don’t you?

3. He has blocked every effort to create a process of getting this under control, by telling congress that he would veto any effort to seal the boarder without what he calls "comprehensive immigration reform"

4. He has blocked every effort to have comprehensive immigration reform by saying that he would veto any legislation that did not include a path to citizenship for illegals.

5. With programs like Fast and Furious he has helped to destabilize the border area making those south of the border desperate to get out (read run NORTH).

Barak Obama has in fact done quite a LOT.

All of it entirely wrong, utterly reprehensible, sometimes illegal and clearly unconstitutional…

I have often wondered why Harry Reid will not bring to the floor any proposal the GOP comes up with. So much for working with congress.
