Health survey gives government its first large-scale data on gay, bisexual population - The Washington Post

First large scale survey on orientation by the government. Another 0.7% identify as bisexual

FTA:The National Health Interview Survey, which is the government’s premier tool for annually assessing Americans’ health and behaviors, found that 1.6 percent of adults self-identify as gay or lesbian, and 0.7 percent consider themselves bisexual.

The figures offered a slightly smaller assessment of the size of the gay, lesbian and bisexual population than other surveys

The overwhelming majority of adults, 96.6 percent, labeled themselves as straight in the 2013 survey.

That 10% figure thrown around since Kinsey studies in the 1940s is pretty much bogus.

Except this survey did not interview ALL adults, and with the population being a small minority of people unless you do full scale like the census you're not going to get an accurate number for this. Not to mention that due to some of the public backlash to all the legal rights they have gotten recently, some of them may just be staying in the closet.

Is this the job for CDC? They are the Center for Disease Control. Or do they know something we don't!

They know something we don't but might have expected for some time.

What would that be?

There was one employee at Pensacola Naval Air Station who passed away from AIDS. The management told all the employees in the building that AIDS was not contagious and that they had nothing to fear. A medical team was sent to retrieve the deceased's tools and personal property. The medical team wore coveralls, masks, and gloves. Rocket science?

Can you tell me what your post has to do with this thread? And do you also know that you cannot get AIDS from drinking out of another's drinking glass if they have AIDS? Do you know this?

What year was that? 1988? It's a known fact that all those precautions were completely unnecessary. You cannot catch HIV from touching tools and personal property once touched by someone with HIV or AIDS. If they wore coveralls, masks and gloves, they were concerned about something else other than AIDS. Or it was 25 years ago.

By the way, people don't pass away from AIDS. You will never find AIDS on a death certificate. They succumb to opportunistic infections and illnesses due to the AIDS virus compromising the immune system.

I answered a question I was asked. I only reported what actually took place. I make no claims as to be an AIDS medical expert. In reality, the CDC's figures seems a bit high to me.
