Thing is Halliburton is the only firm capable of handling the job required, simple as that.

Well, at least Cheney's daughter has to be an Obama fan.

Then how was it wrong for Bush to do? (and I disagree, they are the only one capable because the government gives them bloated no bid contracts)

Haliburton Services is probably the largest oilfield equipment company in the US, and most of the equipment in the oilfields in the Middle East is Haliburton equipment. That is why they get the (no-bid) contracts.

Brown & Root is another, but I don't think they have as much equipment out there as Haliburton, and I'm not sure if they make the wellhead equipment that Haliburton does.

I'm familiar with Haliburton, having spent many years working for an oceanographic instruments company in San Diego (we built TV systems and remote controlled vehicles for the offshore drilling and commercial diving industries). Halliburton was one of our customers.

I used to think I was voting for a hedge against rampant capitalism and middle class/worker abuse, even though I agreed with the Republicans on many, many issues. But not once has Obama even addressed outsourcing or the loss of good paying jobs in this country in anything other than empty words.

It's all about special interests and wacky liberal ideas. And of course, importing as many brown people as Obama can find to further deplete the power of the white folks.

It's beyond words for me what is happening.

I'm starting to think that Obama has a lot of anger and outright hatred for America and her history.

There's likely some truth to this.

The reality is that Obama has incredibly dysfunctional origins.

His "sperm donor" -- you cannot call BO, Sr. a "father" with a straight face -- was never a part of his life, and his mother had no issues leaving Obama with her parents for years, or sending him back to Hawaii by himself as a 5th grader so he could attend school there.

He really has no connection to the history of America. I can't say I'm surprised at how he has turned out, but I am shocked at the people that STILL buy in to his bull**it.

Oh, please!!!!!

If you think the Bush administration was such a disaster (it wasn't), what must you think of the Obama administration?

For most of the Bush years (W) the economy was doing well (except for 2008 when the folly of Carters CRA finally caught up with reality - as the Republicans warned was bound to happen).

Other than that, there was nothing disastrous about the Bush administration.

Indeed, I was thinking this very thing a couple weeks ago, while I watched the 4th of July festivities around my neighborhood. The children that are, and their parents that were, brought up with some sense of what the holiday means, it origins, and history. While we have this person, sworn to uphold the constitution, that spent his formative years outside of the country, and obviously has no appreciation for it's culture or customs.

I'll be surprised if we aren't in a full blown world war by the time this jackaz is finished. We are witnessing nothing short of the rape of the USA. Sadly, there are many on both sides of the political fence that are complicit.
