It IS an organization and it was "from within." He went from one elected Federal position to another.

And, if that isn't enough, how many times have we seen people leave a lessor role at one company to become CEO or similar at another company. Not within then, is it?

We would have heard stories about how she was a "supermom". She would have been
admired by most liberals as a role model. The media would have glossed over the
areas where she lacks experience (they've done this before). Her views and
voting records would have been glossed over unless they would directly help her
cause. She would have been successfully portrayed as the common person taking on
corrupt government and winning. There would have been stories of how her
family had reversed the conventional roles of parenthood with her husband caring
for the kids while she was away---setting an example for other women to pursue
their dreams.

What do you think?

Was ANYBODY looking after the kids, what with all the underaged drinking, criminal vandalism and getting knocked up?
Not so much.

Do you want a person like that in the Oval office ?
I would prefer my dog run the country over the current administration.

At least when he wants something he works for it instead of blaming me for being greedy with the cookies.

which is a horrible analogy on your part seeing as you are responsible for the food your dog eats, unless you are claiming your dog works at McDonalds and pays for his own cookies.

That's an example of the context in which the term actually gets used and applied, not a full definition.

And, by the way, you add "most of the time . . . from within" in a complete act of deception.

Here's the first full definition from Merriam Webster:

Full Definition of PROMOTION

Now, now. Don't those left of center always tell us that we should not be judgemental in regard to how parents raise their children?

Character? Women with character don't lie. Women with character don't quit everything they start. Woman with character stick to their principles instead of raising money for things they abhor, for a nice fat speaking fee. Women with character don't quit yet another college because they don't like the weather. Women with character don't hurl screeching insults at everything and everyone. Women with character don't threaten to punch people in the throat. Women with character don't wear fake glasses to make them look smarter.

Psst Obama had another job between his time in the Illinois State Senate to President. He ran for the United States Senate in 2004 and won.
