What's so bad about Mexico? I read their economy is fine. Come to think of it, how come Mexico is shoving all the illegals from Central America up to the US by train?

The USA is rather contradictory on immigration. We profess to be a nation of immigrants, but really do not like it when they come to our shores.

This is nothing new. The natives despised the first English settlers, who despised the German immigrants, who despised the Irish immigrants, who despised the Italian/Eastern Eurpean immigrants who now despise the Latino immigrants.

The more things change the mre they stay the same.

What part of illegal vs legal immigration are you guys missing?

Geez, the difference is that those early immigrants came legally. We have immigration laws today for good reasons. Our population has increased immensely since then and we have a shortage of jobs and resources. We still allow in over 1 million legal immigrants per year in keeping with our ability to provide the above.

Arizona isn't profiling "immigrants". They want to detain and detect illegal aliens but are doing so according to the law and that doesn't include profiling. Please educate yourself on this subject and I suggest you stop dealing in emotion or whatever other motive you may have.

The part that they don't want to see or acknowledge.

That's simply not true today. We embrace all legal "immigrants" from everywhere. We object to illegal immigration. Learn to know the difference. A huge number of illegal aliens come from Latin America and Mexico.

I agree with you on the illegal immigration problem and it does need to be seriously addressed. However, even for legal immigrants, my post though simplistic, is essentially true.

The United States of America ACCEPTS about a MILLION immigrants every year who follow our laws and apply as prescribed. WHAT WE OPPOSE IS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! Is that so difficult to understand? We have the most liberal immigration policy for LEGAL immigration of any country on the face of this earth. Is it so difficult to expect that policy be followed? Do you know anyone who has come here through the legal process? I do--and they don't like the people who try to sneak in! Have you ever been to the store and stood in line waiting your turn and then somebody cuts in ahead of you? How did you feel? Suppose five or six people cut in ahead of you. Here you are standing in line like you're supposed to and here these other people cheat and cut in ahead of you, making your wait a lot longer. Well, that's how legal immigrants feel about illegal immigrants. Do you have a front door? Do you have a window? When people come to your front door you may decide whether or not you want to welcome them in. But now suppose someone climbs through the window into your house. Do you welcome THAT person in? Look they may be a perfectly fine individual--but they chose the WRONG way to enter your home and you're NOT going to give them amnesty, are you? You're going to want the police to deport them--REAL FAST!!!! Does this help you understand our policy on immigration?

Uh; NO country, even Mexico or Ireland, allows ILLEGAL aliens. No reason the US should allow their kind.

Legal aliens are Ok.
