Uhh...tell me why these commercial airlines thought it would be a good idea to fly over a very active deadly warzone again? Do they not follow the news?
It saves gas. Only few airlines have been taking the risk, and the Malaysian one paid the ultimate price for their gamble.
Yes but the airlines are incredibly stupid if that's what they really thought. Accidents and mistakes always happen in the fog of war. In war innocents are usually the most numerous casualties. That's what war is. I guess they never heard of a thing called collateral damage? So why take that chance?
Would you walk through the middle of a battlefield and think no one would mistake you for a combatant just because you are dressed as a civilian? You'd be utterly crazy and foolish.
I personally wouldn't, but plenty of people put on the Press bullet proof vests and do that all the time.

Such callous reckless disregard of human life that some of these airlines would put the lives of their passengers in mortal danger just so they can boost their profit margin. To me that's just evil. The greed of some of these corporations boggles the mind. Did the airline even warn the passengers beforehand of the risks of flying over an area where airplanes are getting shot down on a regular basis?

I don't see how Malaysian Airlines can survive losing two planes in a matter of few months. I don't think it has ever happened before. ValueJet lost one plane in the Everglades crash, and they did not survive it. I think the Malaysians need to think about selling their company, or at least changing the name of the airline.
These nuts keep shooting things down left and right. And why not? It's not like they are afraid of any type of repercussions for shooting down a passenger plane. This is what happens when you have weak leaders.

What? How is this the fault of Obama? Should we start bombing the Ukraine or Russia or something just to prove a point? That is seriously absurd.

Malaysian Air isn't a privately owned corporation. It's owned and operated by the government. And it's operating at a loss this year because of the lost aircraft back in February. So it's not "greed", but struggling to survive that is behind their decisions.
And blaming the airliner rather than on the parties who shot it down is irrational. Yes, there was some risk involved. But considering how much of our planet is involved in war, it's a risk that is taken daily somewhere around the world.
