Polls like this are pointless because they don't tell you why someone approves or disapproves of Obama. As someone who voted for Obama twice, I disapprove of how he's doing his job, but for the same reasons conservatives do. My gripe with Obama is that he lets Republicans get away with too much and worries too much about trying to compromise with them. IMO, you should never compromise with extortionists, which is what Republicans are. Obama hasn't been the staunch liberal conservatives make him out to be.

This isn't surprising, he carried on with most of the same policies that Bush was using. He promised Hope and Change, but became President status quo.

What compromise?

Does the "i've got a pen and phone" not ring a bell?

I am amazed that his approval rating is so high.

Well, here it is. 39%.

This on top of 58% of Americans seeing Obama as incompetent.
Obama had a low approval rating when he beat romney so i would no depend on a poll that has gotten the view from a handfull of americans

That's right. He's got a pen, a pen to sign bills into law. Problem is Boehner doesn't actually get any bills passed. In fact, he doesn't bring bills to the floor for a vote. Obama also has a phone. But Republicans don't actually call him and try to work out a compromise. Instead, they go on Fox Noise and Press the Meat to badmouth him.

These voters are people who will sadly never learn. Even if they finally admit to themseleves that Obama was a poor president and he misled them, they will not learn a lesson. The next inexperienced, unqualified politician that comes along saying and promising them the same Utopian clap trap, they will swoon, and become personality cultists for their new messiah.

Because he doesn't obstruct anything and everything the other party tries to legislate.

He doesn't have to, Harry Reid keeps it from getting to him.
