A statement put out today by President Barack Obama on the occasion of a religious holiday is raising some eyebrows.

The holiday is a Muslim one called "Eid-al-Fitr" and the statement says:

This last month has been a time of fasting, reflection, spiritual renewal, and service to the less fortunate. While Eid marks the completion of Ramadan, it also celebrates the common values that unite us in our humanity and reinforces the obligations that people of all faiths have to each other, especially those impacted by poverty, conflict, and disease.

In the United States, Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy. That is why we stand with people of all faiths, here at home and around the world, to protect and advance their rights to prosper, and we welcome their commitment to giving back to their communities.

The word choice here, that anyone built "the very fabric of our nation" would usually sound hackneyed and overplayed - but, in this particular instance, given that the U.S. didn't even have its first Muslim-American congressman until 2007, the peculiar word choice has left some scratching their heads.

It's not hard to see why 72% of Muslim-Americans approve of the President, though (the highest percentage out of any religious group.)

Obama Thanks Muslims for
This president is so full of bull and hot air it's amazing, and this speech shows he has no idea what he's talking about. I'd like to know what those "achievements and contributions" Muslims have made to "building the very fabric of or nation" or "strengthening the core of our 'democracy' [doesn't the president know that we are not a democracy?]"

It was our founders that created the "fabric" of our nation, and the "core" of our Republic with the drafting of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

These things, together with our Christian heritage [leftists will try to claim there is no such thing, but they are dead wrong on that, and don't know our history], have been the source of our "common values;" values which Muslims do not share, as we know from the history of the Muslim religion, and the current state of the Middle East under Muslim rule. Muslims are savages who do not value life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness; they seek to destroy Western civilization [especially America] and wipe Christianity and Judaism (and Jews) from the face of the earth.

This is another case of appeasement of Muslims, and a sell out of Americans to a religious group, the goal of which is destroy us.

Has anyone heard Obama ever give such praise to Christians on any Christian holiday? Ever? No, Obama regularly demonizes and criticizes Christians as backward hicks "clinging to their guns and religion."

This president is no friend of Christians, or of America. Obama represents the antithesis of what the founders believed about rights, their world view, and their vision of freedom.

Disturbing, to say the least. But this is not the first time he has done this.

There is nobody talking about impeachment [except for Democrats and the MSM], and John Boehner has said repeatedly that it is "off the table," and every Republican in Congress says it is "off the table."

So, you can tell that to Ms. Pelosi, who lied about the Democrats and impeachment of George W. Bush. Dennis Kucinich introduced Articles of impeachment, and Shella Jackson Lee was a co-sponsor, along with Robert Wexler. Pelosi was right there with them. But, Pelosi and others continue to claim that Republicans are bent on impeachment of Obama.
"During the presidency of George W. Bush, several American politicians sought to either investigate Bush for allegedly impeachable offenses, or to bring actual impeachment charges on the floor of the United States House of Representatives Judiciary Committee. The most significant of these efforts occurred on June 10, 2008, when Congressman Dennis Kucinich, along with co-sponsor Robert Wexler, introduced 35 articles of impeachment [1] against Bush to the U.S. House of Representatives.[2] The House voted 251 to 166 to refer the impeachment resolution to the Judiciary Committee on June 11." — from Wikipedia
The only people talking about impeachment are Democrats and the MSM. This is not to say that there are no impeachable offenses that could be listed in Articles of Impeachment. And, that is not to say that there are no conservatives that would like to see him impeached and removed from office, but since that isn't likely to happen, it would be a waste of time. John Boehner's law suit is a better approach to the problem of the Presidents over reach and overstepping his Constitutional authority at this time. The powers granted to the President by the Constitution are limited and very specific. Obama has exceed those limitations numerous times.

One might think that would be uncontroversial but oh how I sometimes underestimate the right's capacity for fake, and utterly pointless outrage.

Like Pavlov dogs...

Stimulus: false allegations

Response: yipping, yapping, barking, snarling

And while we're on the topic of being off topic, would it be too much to ask the right wingers here to try and come up with some new talking points if they're going to take every opportunity to jack a thread and make it a general gripe about Obama/Democrats/Progressives/Liberals/Minorities/Poor people/Celebrities/minorities? Seeing the same lies told thousands of times over gets boring after awhile. It's kind of odd you call all your opponents sheep and obamabots when you do nothing but repeat, almost verbatim, right wing talking points, some of which are decades old. Hire some writers or something.
The right doesn't need writers to repeat the truth -- the left just doesn't like to be reminded.

Republicans are not racists. Because we abhor Barack Obama's disastrous policies, policies which are destroying this country, does not make us racist.

As for Muslims, they are a threat to the entire world, especially the free world. They are savages who only know how to kill, and they do it in the name of their god [who is not the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob], and it is their goal to eliminate Christianity, Jews and Judaism from the face of the earth, and to see the world ruled by Islam alone.

The history of Islam is one of conquest, invading and slaughtering. This was the reason for the Crusades, as the Muslim hordes invaded Europe, slaughtering millions of Christians, and others. The Christians finally realized that without action, they would be wiped out. The result was the Crusades, and the Muslims were driven back, but some Christian lands were forever changed (Turkey, once Christian, fell to Islam)..

Perhaps you should learn some history before you attack people for "hating" Muslims. You seem to be clueless. What do we see Muslims doing in the world besides slaughtering other people, and demanding their conversion to Islam, or be killed?

The South American illegal immigrants, invited by Barack Obama, are a threat to our well-being in numerous ways. They have violated our laws. Can you tell me why we should allow them to stay?

That was before LBJ ushered in the Great Society.

End all social welfare programs and then I have no objection to open borders.
