I think it's pertinent to point out, once again, that a vote for Barack Obama is a vote for Eric Holder. If the folks of Pennsylvania didn't learn from the first 4 years, then really is there any reason to have any sympathy for them?

Nope. Not a single ounce. Elections have consequences. Let them wallow in their ignorance.

Well... those standards are easily met which is odd that the DOJ thinks its too high... an overweight person can do all of that... the irony is that once an officer can meet those requirements anymore, they get promoted to desk job or something less active...

Yeah, if you want the women to be killed/injured, their male or female patrol partners killed/injured, and the public whom they are supposed to be protecting to be killed or injured.

The purpose of police is to protect the public -- among things -- not function as some sort of Liberal designer diversity sociology experiment.

To properly function as a police officer, it does require certain physical abilities.

Hey..GED and ability to wave a taser should be the requirements..same as the TSA.

With automation taking over the fast food industry there will be lots of people looking for jobs.
Let's put our "best and brightest" to work guarding the nation and communities.

They are basing this on most of the men passing and 30% of the women failing. Because of that these very basic physical standards are apparently sexist.

Feds sue Pennsylvania State Police over women's fitness tests - Washington Times

So the ends justifies the means? The article states that if the standards were fair X amount of women would have been hired. So in other words, because women could not pass the physical test, therefore the test could NOT have been fair. I thought feminists wanted E-Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y? That means ladies that you meet the standards that have been traditionally met for many decades, NOT you pull down those standards to meet your requirements. The criminals' only standard is that the biggest, meanest SOB wins.

Uhm, 7 year old girls have tougher standards for their Presidential fitness ribbon than those listed for PA state police.

Not only should the DoJ not be investigating this, but the PA state police sould be mortified that we ask more of 2nd grade girls physically than we do of state troopers, and any adult that cannot meet the physical requirements of a 2nd grade girl should seriously evaluate their existence.
