That's fine. I don't know too many people who will have problems with that.

So what's wrong with informing customers that they are paying X amount more because of the new law? Is it because you don't want people to be informed how much extra it is costing them to have a higher min.wage?
It's the attitude behind it. It's either "Waaah! We have to spend more money!" or "Here's your punishment for making us spend more money!" As a consumer, I have neither patience nor tolerance for either and will subsequently dish out my own punishment by not spending money there.

How does it equate to a greater good? How does raising the min.wage help anyone, if all the extra money min. wage employees will be making will be spent paying higher prices for goods and services?
Because...and I really can't believe I have to explain this...but there is not a 1:1 proportional effect between raising the minimum wage and rising costs.

Raising the minimum wage is a political stunt for votes.

The differnence is... He doesn't lie about it, and liberals force other people to bear the burden of their claimed generosity.

I'd boycott that place, for sure. And it's a terrible PR move on their part. Most Americans already think the minimum wage is too low. To obviously punish their customers is a bad move. They could just raise their prices by 5 or 10 cents instead of making a stink about the whole thing.

Is Oasis Cafe a large chain? If not, they wouldn't be affected by the ACA at all. Sounds like more empty right wing rhetoric. Also, I don't see anything in the story that says they actually lost money last year.

This seems like an example of someone cutting their nose to spite their face. I bet they lose many customers because of the negative publicity of this story.

Absolutely. Look at the responses on Yelp:

River Oasis Cafe - Stillwater, MN | Yelp

In addition, the owner is actually profiting off of the minimum wage increase by doing this. The increase was .75 per hour. Considering the hundreds of customers they serve day, you can bet they are more than making up for that increase.
