Tanks have been spotted in Baghdad and the Presidential Palace has been surrounded by troops as PM al-Maliki accuses the new President Massoud of violating the constitution. It sure looks like al-Maliki has staged a coup. So much for the pronouncements earlier this summer that "Maliki must go" . This can only help ISIS to achieve their goal of seizing Baghdad .

Word I'm reading in Mid-East news is that Maliki called for the extra security before his speech.
This is looking more like a Dictator calling a "State of Emergency" than a "coup".

I'll check for more later - busy now.

Man, the Bush Doctrine is an utter failure on every level.

Guess we get to see this happen all over again in Afghanistan next. At least a lot of people got rich.

The way things are going, I don't think Bush will win a 5th term in 2016.

Maliki and his cronies will be flown first class to the US with their millions in stolen loot before that would ever happen.
