Some people would say it would not be a bad thing if a pandemic hit Europe and North America and got rid of those that use the most resources and do the most polluting. Guess it depends on ones point of view.
Population growth ain't an issue in Europe or the USA or even Canada unless talking about illegal aliens here and many Muslims in Europe. Pollution: word is the air and water are real bad in places like China, Mexico, and so on but NOT in places like Chicago, London, Berlin, Tokyo or even Seoul.
Stop it, please. Many whites and Asians left Africa because it wasn't safe for them there because of Black racism. Too; if white people were a BIG minority in Zimbabwe, they weren't, when Mugabe got control, there'd been an ugly civil war with the Blacks probably losing.
It's up to Africa to grow up and QUIT blaming the white or Asian man man for it's failures in 2014. Word is Botswana IS taking care of business. Sheesh!

When you are an oppressed people, you want to be free from your chains. That's what we did, and we had a pretty rough start at first. The benefit that we had was that the educated elite also happened to be the demographic majority of the settlers at the time so they didn't cut tail and run like they did in Africa, taking everything with them. That's how we lucked out. The African countries were left to fend for themselves, and mostly only the poor whites remained who are not much more intelligent than the indigenous. It is the white man's fault for running away without leaving anything behind. They took everything, and whatever they left behind, they continue to pillage to this day via the corporation and corrupt leaders they bought for themselves.
I can come up with a false dichotomy of my own, too. You don't support men who, without them, would result in Christians being slaughtered and chased out of town while their churches are being burned down?
The overwhelming majority of those dead died because of famine, not in a labor camp. Besides, every last Chinese emperor with a great project had similar results, too. You don't think people died being forced to build the Great Wall? Communism had nothing to do with it, because the same resulted in right-wing monarchies of the past

Maybe. I say that because the plagues back in the day seem to hit mostly groups of people with high birthrates. More and more countries are at replacement level or less so IMHO it won't be places like Europe, Japan or the US having many people die "young", it'll be places like India or most of Africa.

We need to harden the power infrastructure of the nation, more people need to stock more food, maybe secure the border so the hordes south of border can not come up during the "readjustment" and spread the virus.
We have too much tech to regress all that much hard dives store so much info plus all the machines are still there waiting to be fueled and used..

Um, what? The survivors of the Black Death had a huge increase in quality of life. Higher wages, more space for living and farming, and plenty of new opportunities.
