Wal Mart is indeed doing the same thing by making supervisors part time and lowering their pay, some time eliminating the position all together and splitting the hours between other associates.

My sense of the Walmart employment model is that it's all about intentional employee turnover. The expense to recruit, hire and train is less than the perceived cost of being a union shop.

If the supply of workers did not historically exceed the number of vacancies, Walmart would have to pay more.

If I were a young whippersnapper in need of a job with unlimited growth, I would likely target Walmart for employment and I say this as someone who rarely shops Walmart. There is always opportunity in chaos.

The internet is what opened the door to white collar offshoring and that was mid 90's or so when speeds started to increase.
I saw it as early as the late 70's when technology in the " back office" began to have an impact on white collar jobs. It gained steam in the 80's and was robust in the 90's. Having lived through the Y2k hoax,,I knew the gloves were going to come off , going forward.

Technology was no longer a safe haven in the US when work could be performed elsewhere for less.

The very rich got richer.

The true working class and job creators have taken it on the chin due to this amateur and his policies.
Welfare programs have grown because private sector profits and productivity keeps rising because of stagnant wages, reduced benefits, globalization, and automation.

Welfare is the result of capitalism.

Sometimes Obama is a fascist, sometimes he's socialist, and sometimes he's a corporate shill.

Maybe you also don't know that the president makes lots of decisions that impact the economy and businesses. Read a little.

Obama didn't raise taxes, he let the Bush tax cuts expire.
Yes, he did raise taxes. Lots of them. Do a little research next time.

What regulations and restrictions have hurt the wages of working Americans?
Yes, lots of them do. His war on coal and opposition to the Keystone pipeline are just two examples. There are many many more. Obama hates the working class and loves to support initiatives that transfer wealth from the working class to his elite buddies.

Didn't Obama unilaterally raise the minimum wage for Federal Contractors?
Obviously, that didn't help raise average wages, did it?

This is true for all businesses including Apple, IBM and Ford. It's called supply and demand. It's what the market is all about.
