She's a real prima donna.

Quote:
Clinton, a former first lady, U.S. senator from New York and U.S. secretary of state, is expected to run for president in 2016. Her lifestyles of the rich and famous ways and comments that she made about her wealth during a recent book tour have fueled criticism that she’s out of touch with average Americans.

The Democratic contender said she pays taxes, unlike some people who are “truly well off.” She also said she and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, were “dead broke” when they left the White House in 2001. In the past eight years alone, the couple has earned more than $100 million, much of it from speaking fees, according to Politico.

In fact, the former president spoke at the 2012 UNLV Foundation dinner, taking home a $250,000 fee. His spouse will get $225,000 to speak at the annual dinner. The size of Hillary Clinton’s fee has come under fire from critics who question the large expense in an era when students are hard-pressed to cover tuition and leave school saddled with massive debt.

But Clinton’s $225,000 is something of a cut-rate. Documents obtained by the newspaper show that she initially asked for $300,000 and reveal that she insists on controlling every detail of the private event, large and small, to ensure that she will be the center of attention.

For Clinton, Nothing Less Than A Gulfstream 450 Will Do | The Daily Caller

The former Secretary of State insists on staying in the ‘presidential suite’ of a luxury hotel of her staff's choice, with up to five other rooms reserved for her travel aides and advance staff. Clinton also reportedly requires that the Foundation provide a private plane. However, the jet can not be any private plane; only a $39 million, 16-passenger Gulfstream G450 "or larger" will do the job.

“It is agreed that Speaker will be the only person on the stage during her remarks,” reads the contract for the event, which also requires that Clinton have final approval of all moderators or introducers.

Also, according to her standard speaking contract, Clinton has to stay at the event no longer than 90 minutes and will pose for no more than 50 photos with no more than 100 people. There is no press coverage of video or audio taping of her speech allowed, with the only record allowed being made by a stenographer whose transcript is given to Clinton. The paper reports, however, that the stenographer's $1,250 bill will be paid by the UNLV Foundation.

Were you whining when Palin was making over $100,000 per speech?

I was never a Palin supporter or defender.

Nor was I ever a Bush or McCain supporter.

Supply and demand. If she wasn't in demand as a speaker her terms wouldn't be met. Obviously she is.

Why do you hate capitalism?

I don't. I hate sanctimonious self-righteous politicians who act like they're like the rest of us but live an entirely different routine.

I don't care who the speaker is, no one is worth $100,000 per speech. I will say one thing, at least Sarah Palin has a little personality and can be a bit funny. That is better than Hillary.

Govie, can you tell me what good it does to call someone a name? It sounds like something you would hear on the elementary school yard. Not liking someone, not supporting them is one thing, to call them damn retards is quite another. Maybe I am a retard for not understanding why someone has to resort to name calling.

True, for pure entertainment value, it would be hard to beat Palin. If I wanted some substance, I would choose Hillary.
