Why is the mainstream media broadcasting Michael Brown death so much more than beheading of an American journalist! (interview, crimes)

I'm totally surprised to see the images of Michael Browns parents on TV over and over while the person stole from a convenience store and didn't show any respect for an elderly person and pushed the guy and than later got shot.
It is not that the death and investigation are important to figure out if the cop was wrong or not since that is for a later time in a court of law.
But seeing the guy who didn't do anything wrong waiting for his throat to be cut seconds later is so horrific and the parents being so upbeat about it at the press conference that it was even more heart breaking what the parents have to go through aside from losing their son this way by terrorists.
Both parents are in pain and going to a rough and unbelievable time of morning but why is the mainstream media showing one set of parents over and over and showing pictures like the guy was a boy scout while we clearly saw a disrespectful person and thief/thug in the last minutes before he died.
I'm not saying he deserved to die if the cop just shot him without reason but that will be determined BUT for me the question is why do we have to watch over and over (of course we can change channels or turn the TV off) people talking about it and even listening to some of the people in the street over there who are saying "I will say this once" and then they repeat it more than once and less about the person who didn't anything wrong.
I blame the mainstream media for inflating a lot of additional hate that seems to exist on both sides and a leader that clearly is MIA and therefore partly to blame for not speaking out loud and having for example his wife stop interfering with our kids food but stand up for inner city crimes against certain groups and to raise these kids better.

James Foley's murder was reported yesterday. The Michael Brown incident resulted in a riot, and happened a week ago.
I've seen plenty on James Foley. I just hope they catch the SOB with the knife.
1. Each time I've turned on the news in the past two days, the beheading story has led (but has also had much less time allocated to it, which is your point).
2. Because the story in Ferguson is not just about a kid getting shot, it's about ongoing riots and relations here in the USA.
3. Because we have a lot more info, a lot more people directly involved in Ferguson
4. Because it is happening on our own soil.
5. WRT the National Mainstream Media, because they are trying to fan the flames to create more story.
6. Because (as is evidenced on these forums) race relations in the US still have a way to go (whichever side of this you're on.)
And in general, they can interview protestors, cops, family members, politicians, effected business owners and many, many more. With the other story, you can only interview pundits because ISIS ain't talking, and neither is the victim.

I get Both, find a new news station.
Oh, just so ya know, the Ferguson thing started First, so get in line.
Well, I would have to say that we all expect crazy Islamists to murder and do all kinds of really evil things BUT we don't expect an American law enforcement officer to execute a person. I mean it's really pretty simple EH?
Simply because the mainstream media is Socialist and is in bed with the Democratic Party. One of their goals is to create racial division and tension, keep their fellow Americans separated and the Ferguson incident provided them with an opportunity to do just that. They know they can make people angry and upset, and riot and cause chaos, they even send their Socialist lap dogs like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to fuel the fires.
The beheading was done by a Muslim and part of the Democratic Platform is trying to appeal to them. They don't care if Christians get killed, in which there is a genocide occurring in that very same region, they just don't want to make Muslims "look bad" for PC reasons so they don't lose their vote.
Focusing on the black thug serves a higher political purpose for the leftwing race crowd.
