So now that the people are working enough to equal 40 hours a week they can afford housing and food problem solved.

Most people who claim they can not find work, either don't want a job, are not willing to do what ever it takes to obtain one, or let their ego get in the way of accepting something they think is beneath them.
So everybody go back to sleep there nothing wrong here and nothing to see.

I moved out of Chicago, and never changed it on here. My wife and I couldn't stand living in such a liberal area. We moved to a smaller town in central IL.

No luck needed, this is where I grew up and was away for a few years than moved back, so not sure what luck is needed.

But my point still stands, if someone can not afford where they live, they can move to somewhere the cost of living is lower.

The majority of jobs that got created since the recession were low paying service jobs.
That's what replaced higher paying white collar jobs.

The world has caught up to the US and has surpassed us as far as education and skill.
Technology makes doing this work in other countries just as easy as if it were done down the block.

Doing this work in other countries makes it affordable for the up and coming middle class in these countries.

I sure wouldn't mind seeing the return of a $14K brand new Ford escort here in the US, wouldn't you ?
Ford exporting them here to the US would still be cheaper than buying a US made one.

I agree but these other countries are willing to educate there workforces, they weren't concerned with OMG Johny is getting more then i or why do i have to pay taxes for people below me in class.

When we had the strongest and highest educated workforce was when most higher education was free or really cheap.

These other countries test their students around 14 or so and they either go off to trade school or off to college.
We don't do that here.
These other countries put plans in place to attract highly skilled, educated workers.
We sent word down to central America for all the poor to come here.
We worry about McDonald's burger flippers instead of worrying about what the next new high paying industry will be.

We're too busy worrying about how to subsidize the poor and not thinking about the future workforce that will be needed to pay for all that subsidizing.

They will never accept that we live in a global economy nor understand those implications.

Like it or not, most manufacturing is going to chase low cost labor from country to country and continent to continent.

Like it or not, most people buy based upon price.

We can either have the corporations that manage, administer and run manufacturing in these low cost labor countries and bring back profits while keeping the control jobs here in the US, or we can allow corporations in other countries do it.

Sure, we can take the high ground and not have the manufacturing or the management and see our jobs, tax base and standard of living disappear, but I'd rather not do that. However, if my agenda was to get rid of rich people, it would be a winning strategy. The rich people would either move overseas or lose their wealth and homes like the rest of us.
