No one said anything about 8-15 men, and no one said anything about killing them all. The article specifically says they want to crush the head of the snake.
and neither do i. in fact i would prefer it if no country in the world needed a military and that everyone lived in peace. but since that is a fantasy, and we need them to protect this country and its interests, then it becomes an unfortunate fact that some of them will die. and when they do we need to make sure those deaths are not in vain.
What ever happened to obama's " peaceful dialogue" with our enemies. It is sad that people actually thought obama was gonna make peace over there. He was gonna woo them with his looks. Hahaha. What a weakling.
The operation will be led by America’s CIA spy agency.
Is this the same CIA spy agency that had no clue the Arab Spring was coming, had no clue that ISIS/ISIl/IS were moving into Iraq and had no clue that either the US Cairo Embassy OR the US Benghazi Mission would be attacked on 9/11/12?
The DOD should run this operation. In my opinion the CIA has been given too much decision making power. The military needs to make the military decisions, period...
Bin Laden ran from Afghanistan, and kept running for 10 years, until the SEALs found him.
Yes of course, and now we can all live happily ever after, right? Nothing beats a wider view when considering the outcome of a nations policies. After all of the wars this nation has engaged in you'd think the average bear could determine who really wins in warfare, hint---it's those who make the weapons, body bags and boots. The seals are simply pawns in a game and nobody can say with certainty what Bin Laden's fate was...
I don't know any Vietnam vets who had respect for "charlie", nor any who refer to the enemy either lightheartedly or as Mr Anything.
Respect and awareness are not the same thing.
Here's one. The Viet Cong were a group I had to have a grudging respect for. They were smart, capable, and showed undeniable courage in the face of the withering firepower we were able to bring to bear against them. They committed unspeakable atrocities, even throwing half-American babies into the air and shooting at them on the way down. But they were a fighting force to be reckoned with, and made our ARVN South Vietnamese allies look weak by comparison. The difference, of course, is that the ARVN soldier couldn't feel much loyalty to the criminals in the Saigon government (Diem, Ky, Thieu) whereas the NVA and VC believed in what they were fighting for. We can see the same thing in Afghanistan and Iraq. What Iraqi or Afghan soldier would be willing to sacrifice his life for a Maliki or a Karzai?
If you say so, but their primary mission is to crush the head of the snake. Maybe they'll call it a good start.
